  2. Gibson EB0 1968/69 Bass USA This old bass comes complete with original tug bar, working mute and bridge cover. The big Gibson mud-bucker is stock and sounds massive. Short scale, set neck with pearl inlays and rosewood board. Mahogany body. I replaced the foam in the bridge as an old yellow kitchen sponge was in it when I bought it. The screws holding the cover in place look newer to me and there is some more modern looking wire connecting to the jack in the control plate. See pics. The other thing I did was to replace the G tuner as it was slipping (in ‘68 Gibson were using imported tuners from their Kalamazoo range to keep up with orders as interest in the bass hit it’s peak). On the headstock picture you can see the original which I will include. When I took the tuner off Schallers or similar had been fitted at some point but then returned to stock. It is strung with Thomastik Jazz flats. When I bought it the bass was wearing the heaviest, nastiest mix of black nylon Rotos and round wounds but the neck had managed to stay straight. The bass has had no neck or headstock repairs. It’s lovely to play and nice and light but resonant. It is a one trick pony but it does that trick very well and I found it very musical. The action is low and the string tension low so unplugged it’s quite buzzy. Played through an amp it sounds great but at the time I was using it I was recovering from a fretting hand op so playing it now it could probably do with the action raising. I’m out of action again with rotator cuff so can’t do this at the moment. The trussrod works properly and the frets have life in them but are probably due for a crown. I bought it with a pretty nifty home made case. I would think it rare to find one with all its original hardware. UK only sorry. No trades, pickup preferred so you can try it out but I can post if that’s difficult. It’s a gigged, vintage bass over half a century old so lots of finish checking (that looks gorgeous) and dings. The pictures show it strung with D’Addarios but the bass is now wearing Thomastik flats as per description.

  4. Love You To Death - Type O Negative
  5. this got sold thought id updated, had to delete a load of pics to make room
  6. Ive not posted my last clutch of new pedals, theres been a couple 🤣 Aotearoa intermodulator - built by the wonderful @LukeFRC its a Prunes and custard clone, but very small and rediculously well made. Its a damn funky touch sensitive synthy fuzz. Diamond Bass comp Jnr- id forgotten how great these are, subtle fatness and sheen, works beautifully with other pedals, this is for the big fusion board. MXR Bass chorus Deluxe- i love this pedal, lovely subtle but warm chorus, with a fantastic Flanger and the best colour. EBS Multi comp - one of my favourite, with three great sounding modes. This is for the smaller board used for my rock and soul bands. Emma Okto Nojs - dual pedal, versatile octave and a synthy octave up fuzz as well as an octave down fuzz, very synthy. Subdecay Prometheus filter- very resonant and versatile filter, tons of synthy sounds available, not the easiest to dial in, bur rewarding when you do. Best used with octave /fuzz as its not really a bootsy type filter
  7. Obsession - Animotion
  8. Dig it - Windmill Guitars in Bangor used to sell the guitars, so if they come up there, I'd recommend them. I bought a Peerless there and the owner added me on Facebook, in order to put a t-shirt in my size in the case. Really nice family run shop. Kithara have sold a few charity pieces with them too.
  9. The Chant Has Begun - Level 42
  10. ^ There's one in the classifieds now at a bargain price
  11. Dunc bought a TC head from me. Great communication and fast payment, everything you’d want from a buyer! Thanks again and I hope you have fun with it!
  12. Today
  13. Agreed. This is a lucky steal for somebody! Bargain.
  14. Pulse II is a great entry to Spectorland and THAT tone, especially if you upgrade the preamp. If you can afford it and don't mind a slightly thicker neck then a Euro 4LX will get you there straight away. 👍
  15. How do you avoid bleed from the PA into the mics, is it just careful positioning?
  16. I should have followed up with a post back then as they told me it was the same IcePower 700AS module too.
  17. So I'm assuming Pete doesn't want this, it's available if anyone else does, or it'll stay here I suspect
  18. I agree with all of that mybass. I used it for a few rehearsals last winter with a very loud drummer in a project that didn't work out and the power of what I thought was a fairly light little rig meant I had to keep turning it down I don't envisage needing it for the next year or two though.
  19. I'm sure none of us are keen on encouraging child labour exploitation. But you disrespect so many nations and their hard working citizens by making such generalisations. Where exactly are "these places" in the "Far East" you refer to where children are working 7 days a week for 12 hours a day, making high tech bass PA equipment that we consume here in the West? Which Western bass equipment manufacturers are you aware of who are importing such kit without looking at the working conditions of the factories making the products they import? It would be good to know - I'm sure we would all benefit from the research you have done on this.
  20. I so like 5 strings now that I tend not to look at the ads for 4 stringers. In fact I'm toying with the idea of trying to replace some of the herd with 5 string versions. First on the list for that would be the Ric 4003. My browsing history has a few 4003s/5 in it, especially in walnut... 🤪
  21. Beautiful bass...and those of us that either own or have owned one of these know how versatile these are... Seriously underpriced IMO...a couple of years ago they were selling for £6-700....somebody is getting the bargain of the year... GLWTS
  22. I guess it's what you're used to. The drummer in my 3-piece covers band likes to have it, but I insist he brings the gear himself and he sets it up. Similarly, the lead singer in my 5-piece soul band sometimes wants it (depends on the venue). Apart from that, never. It's not that I don't have decent floor monitors available (2 x QSC CP8, 1 x QSC CP10) but life's too short unless they're really necessary.
  23. Great bass, rumoured to have been built for Status Jr or some such Bloody hell 16 years ago!! Hope you’re well mate. YNWA
  24. I can't imagine not having it.
  25. Why say you're sorry? Please stop clutching your pearls and open your eyes. Perhaps you are uncomfortable about the fact that we in the prosperous West enjoy cheap manufactured goods thanks to the fact that many people (who are often very young) in low wage economies work long hours for little pay, often in unregulated workplaces that boast few safety precautions or protection for workers. There's nothing bigoted (note single 't') about pointing that out. I put my money where my mouth is and try not to buy things that are made in such places. It may cost me more, but the consolation is that I'm not enabling exploitation or helping to fund the export of jobs to low wage economies. No doubt you'll tell me I'm fortunate to be able to afford my scruples.
  26. The COG pedal looks very involved! What does it do?
