  2. Is there any way an external input can be used to speed/key adjust or would it require burning a CD of the track to play in the machine? I had a look on the Tascam site but no joy. Cheers.

  4. Lane Poor Minima Stambaugh
  5. I was going to make this point too. I used to have an old Park valve head which was designed for bass but was bought off me by a guitarist who reckoned it was the beat amp he'd ever played though. I assume this is why the original Fender Bassman amps are so popular with guitarists too. GLWTS
  6. If ever you decide to sell on come knocking at my door 😁
  7. She's The One - World Party
  8. Was watching some video of Sleep Token playing live the other day - the guitarists play 8-strings in double-low-E tuning (EAEADGBE). Their bass player uses a 4-string. He used to play a standard P as well, only recently getting a multiscale Aristides, but even they are just 34"-36", less extreme than a Dingwall. Just because a guitarist plays in drop-G doesn't mean you have to. Just use a tone that sits under the bottom end of the guitar, even if it's playing in the same octave. Might also be worth checking out a Digitech Drop pedal - they actually work pretty well on bass, as long as you're not looking to go stupidly low.
  9. Hands Off She’s Mine - The Beat
  10. Play an MIJ non export 70,s spacing JB 75 from the 90s. They are just superb and a proper Jazz bass.
  11. My first pro instrument was a five-string MIA Fender Jazz. It's a lovely bass - plenty of bite, perfectly balanced, looks the biz and is dead easy to play. I'll never part with it, even though my current weapon of choice is a Sterling Stingray 5.
  12. If it was a choice between £20 every few weeks for rounds, or £50 every decade for flats, I know what I would (and do) choose 😆
  13. Slap and tickle - Squeeze
  14. Alan was the original bassist on the London cast production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Some sterling bass work on that album.
  15. Wow - what a cool thing to have done! 😎
  16. It's a great pedal, it took me a little while to tweak it to my liking, I think it could do with an input gain, however, I've got it in a signal chain, so it's probably me, which I need to get round to sorting. But yes, I like it.
  17. Very lovely of you to say sir 😊
  18. Welcome back Bilbo!!
  19. Just seen Klōs carbon fiber necks are available through @Bass Direct has anyone tried these yet? As a status & modulus fan I’m excited to see the emergence of another retro-fit carbon neck supplier….. https://klosguitars.com/collections/electric-guitar-necks?srsltid=AfmBOopbFiNMb8EZHZ5Jo6qi9EdRyz1X1tO2BWue-QPdjxgqfH8AxVu0 https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/klos-f-series-bass-neck-pj5-22-fret/
  20. Derek Watkins - The James Bond Trumpet Legend!! He was truly one of a kind, a super musician from the golden age of British session musicians.
  21. Found some bargain Roland drum parts on marketplace and wondered if a kind BCer could collect, pay the cash (£150), box up and post to me using Evri Tbe 270 mile trip would kinda negate the bargain price for me ! Thanks in advance
  22. I played a Wal for over 30 years. It was pretty much my first bass. In all that time I never played a Fender. I got a Jazz a few years ago and absolutely love it and can’t believe it took me so long to discover. Mind you I had it PLEKd, fitted a new nut, changed the pickups, electronics, bridge and machine heads to make it my perfect bass. 😂😂
