  2. Go Wild in the Country - Bow Wow Wow
  3. I saw on a YT review of the guitars that the finish on the neck can very quickly ‘rub off’ so the tacky feel is very much a temporary thing.
  4. i see here someone based in London selling 2 x L2 https://www.ebay.com/itm/326779921534?_skw=L2+Steinberger+Bass&itmmeta=01K5X794VND8SP66ZDZ0QPDWYT&hash=item4c1599e47e:g:88cAAOSwn6NoVnad&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA0FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1eE1ERGx%2B%2BTe%2BXrhphFUF9%2BuWtmq6AFznT687imJN8SSiT1PwKtcHe9ep4GqfbdC6HQfa%2FiJ2eQVriuWKhkjtf3HhFs4GTNRfZEIP26ccHPTgLyIFyoRLKrPmmfguIaQI5vhadL%2FQynTuzqExIPanYzTr2natWIF98nyd3qUnQTMqonyijPS8u4MSWVl9ZPfqJQu092ofHU643%2BAlwtvVtuh0tBWMq611EHcmIeYPv8vg61u8pfzL458xpyPEtO7MQ%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_rNpKevZg
  5. Those are really cool. I really like the inlays and gloss finish on the entry level model. I wonder how the aguilar pre amp and pups compare to the EMGs in the Pulse. Fingers crossed they'll be a raft of 2nd hand Pulse sales for me to choose from soon 😄
  6. Back to Nature! - Fad Gadget
  7. Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac
  8. yep just bought 2 x 2 pack 45-105, cheap as chips
  9. Hey all, Had this in my bits box for a long time, I initially built it when I ripped out the active circuit of a Sire V3 Jazz I had. Sounded great as a passive bass, and the addition of the series/parallel switch really helps Jazzes I think. The neck volume pot is a push/pull, allowing you to switch from parallel in the down position, to series in the ‘pulled’ position. Old school cloth wiring. It’s not a super pro job, but it was working nicely when I had it fitted. I will say that it’s been in my bits box for a long while, so the absolute worst case is that some of the connection solder needs re-flowing. One of the knobs is slightly mismatched, but easily changed if that bothers you. Price includes UK postage Cheers Si
  10. Today
  11. Has anyone managed to track these down in the UK yet? I've seen a few sites in the US that have them but wanted to find out how much they'd be in the UK first. Although I haven't been using it recently, I kept a hold of my Cort headless to give me a chance to try them.
  12. In the end I replaced the battery box with the Musicman one but changed the jack to a normal one using the wiring diagram below
  13. Reflections Of My Life - Marmalade
  14. Very unfortunate and I've been there with other bands. For me it was always the guy that took things too seriously. My current band has been together and gigging constantly since 2007. I've been with them since 2009. Outside of gig confirmation and details there's no Interaction with each othe until we're on stage. We don't rehearse, no list of dos and don't. However there's an unwritten rule, show up at every gig with a positive attitude and have fun. There's also no material suggestions or exchange of musical ideas. I really think it's why the band has been together for 18 years. Don't get me wrong, new musical ideas happen and become apart of our set, however they happen organically. There's never any formal discussion. It's a sad thing when things in a band don't work out and fail. I think it can happen even when initially everyone is on the same page. Daryl
  15. Mirror In The Bathroom - The Beat
  16. Nerina Pallot is great. I first met her in the early 200s when I had a room in Cable Street Studios in London. Andy Chatterley has a studio in the complex, and one day when Chris McIntyre were in visiting Andy, he introduced us to his girlfriend, Nerino. A short while later I saw Neil Finn performing at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh, and to my surprise, Nerina was the support act. She was really good, prompting me to buy her debut album when it came out shortly afterwards.
  17. Wow 😮
  18. It’s a beauty and I always offer a little discount to BC members too. Both @AndyTravis and @Old Man Riva have played this at the Birmingham show.
  19. This has been my daily drool recently https://www.vintagebassroom.co.uk/basses-1/p/1972-fender-precision-sunburst seems a bit overpriced compared to a neater looking 72 on Andy Baxters site but still has me looking longingly daily 😍
  20. Active Seymour Duncan precision bass pickup (version with 3 switches). Used but works perfectly. Fairly rare. Happy to ship at buyer’s expenses.
  21. That depends. It certainly takes the EQ part of the preamp out of circuit, but I can't see any point in the pickups being wired to the PCB (as they are) if it's not to put them through buffers. The pickups feed in to the bottom connector, then wires come from the bottom connector to the blend pot. They'd go straight to the blend pot if they were unbuffered.
  22. I've got a Smoothhound, a Line 6 G50, a Harley Benton something, Lekato WS-50s and WS-70s and the M-Vave clone of the WS-70. Almost all my basses are active although none of them are ridiculously high output. Never had a problem with any of them distorting through any of the wirelesses.
  23. And drying your shoes out.
  24. Looking at things from the opposite angle, I was just thinking about whether my main band would want a dep in. The two guitarists, one of whom is also the singer, really both need to be there. As the drummer gets 95% of the gigs, he's not going to book one for when he's not there, and as well as providing myself, I provide and run the PA and it's far easier not to book gigs when I'm not available than for them to work out the logistics of collecting and storing the PA, setting it up, and making it work. OTOH, the number 2 band has singer/gob-iron player and guitarist, both of whom are necessary, but the rhythm section is deppable - I came in as a dep and became permanent, and also got depped a couple of weeks ago when there was a gig conflict (annoyingly, the gig for the main band was cancelled).
  25. Shame they don't do two-packs of the 5-string 40s.
