  2. Those are very useful and well worth buying. Other retailers are available
  3. It's clear from the comments that many of the sheeple are posting to say what a fantastic guitarist she is...
  4. Garden Party for us.
  5. Yeah, i have been offering people on the second hand market here in France to swap either one of my two basses for the ones they are selling but they all are looking for smthg else...and i have no cash right now to buy unless i sell first...
  6. A couple of years ago I managed to book a gig on my daughters wedding day! To be fair she hadn't written it in the diary. I knew there was going to be a wedding, but I had no idea of the date!. It's the wife's job to keep track of all that stuff. The clash was noticed a couple of months before the big day, so a dep could be found, but I'm still regularly ticked off over that one!!
  7. Back at Pitchers and we found that since we were last here a fortnight ago, we've lost 30% of the stage area to some lowest common denominator entertainment device called a Dance Machine. As James and his guitarist-sized pedalboard were here, as well as Phoebe with her far more modest showing, there was barely anywhere to stand and getting to the mic to do some BVs wasn't easy. It wasn't very busy, a few regulars were absent. There were three featured bands - Three Mile Island quite impressed me, an originals straightforward rock band. The monstrosity can be seen behind me - the drumkit normally goes where it stands now. It stands on a platform which the bass amp was set up on (it normally lives where that Boss amp is). Also visible is the first half metre of James's pedalboard.
  8. I think my most embarassing one is when I managed to book tickets to go to a gig (to see DB virtuoso Edgar Meyer iirc) without realising that my band at the time also had a (totally different) gig that night, which somehow I didn't realise until they called me to find out why I wasn't at the soundcheck. Fortunately they were able to cope without me for one night but not my finest hour.
  9. It was my pleasure to buy a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 off Sarah and her partner on Saturday last. Item as described, good comms, fair price (for both of us). Deal with confidence! Shug

  12. Saturday night, back at a WMC that Dirty Roses have played at before. Went down well, which was nice. I've done several years of social club work so I'm used to the bingo and play your cards right, it's still a novelty for the others. Antoniotsai dragon bass -> Lekato WS-90 -> Zoom MS-60B+ -> Tecamp Puma 900 -> GR Bass AT212. We have our youngest fan.
  13. Not sure if this counts as a rookie error (or maybe saved by a pro?) but many years ago I played at a rather posh end of year school concert for my old school, in an acoustic guitar duet with an old guitar teacher called Simon James (who was one of the founding members of the band "Acoustic Alchemy" if anyone remembers them). The whole concert had gone very well so in a fit of enthusiasm the school music teacher invited all the musicians to come up on stage with their instruments for an impromptu finale. As I went to go up Simon motioned at me to sit down and said we would sit this one out. Sure enough it was an embarrassing disaster that fortunately we had no part of!
  14. I was researching the prices of pre-CBS Jazzes as I have quite a budget built up for music stuff. However, it seems to be impossible to find one under €10K... The 64 refin at Andy Baxter is lovely but it's almost €8K plus shipping and VAT. That hurts.
  15. I actually prefer a direct sale, but it always depends. Maybe you can send me your ideas via pm.

  18. What a beauty! I’ve absolutely fallen in love with my MIJ International Series P-Bass. I didn’t expect it to become my go-to bass but it plays incredibly well and feels a bit lighter than my other P, so I’m a basswood, and Japanese Fender, convert.
  19. Sounds lovely, @ped.
  20. Flats. I know that there are loads of players who love them, but I went through about 5 or 6 brands before realising that they weren’t for me.
  21. I’ve not heard of Nevr Dull before, but a quick Google shows it to appear to be very similar to Duraglit, which I’ve used for years with good results. It’s now owned by Brasso, and marketed as Brasso ‘with Duraglit’ I believe. Easy to use and no mess. Great idea, will try that next time - thanks.
  22. Great little pedals with Tube and FET plus the ability to mix the two. Very nice condition and stored in a neat little padded carry case! Postage can be arranged at buyer’s cost.

  23. Sounds like mine are dying then. I've just charged both the box and the transmitter/receiver units, so tonight I'll use them at rehearsal and see how long they take to die... but it's clear mine do not work like yours. I'm going to do a few tests, just to get a better sense about how quickly they die, and then I'll attempt surgery. It'll probably end up with my buying another set and crossing my fingers.
  24. Used to be mine. Its a wonderful lightweight and incredibly easy-to-play bass. I am back on long scale basses now, after my hand injury (largely) healed but this is an absolute beauty for those who love a shorter scale. BTW, the brand new one at Bass Gallery is £2,850, so this is a grand or so cheaper and looks to still be in the amazing condition when I sold it. GLWYS!
