  2. Mark O’Toole wrote the bass line for Two Tribes. There are demo versions online that show the song in its early stages (pre ZTT) with the bass line pretty much formed. I think there was also a BBC (John Peel?) session at one point too (again, pre ZTT). I always really rated him, even more so after I saw them live at Brum NEC in, around ‘86/‘87, touring the Liverpool album. It certainly belied the myth that they couldn’t play…
  3. Great pedal. Mine has just replaced a Darkglass.
  4. I'm not the biggest Fender fan but this one came as a pleasant surprise. Saw it at Guitar Center last month. 152 basses there. Everything else was hanging on the wall but the Fender was sitting in a stand right inside the door to the bass room, just asking to be picked up and plugged in. Twenty amps on the floor but for some reason, only an Ampeg Rocket was actually plugged in so I used that instead of a Rumble. Must've played for half an hour or more and the truth is, I never sounded better...hadn't touched a bass in two weeks. Sure, tone is all in the fingers, but I have to think the bass had a little to do with it. Seriously, though, what a nice P bass! I used a strap and the bass felt very comfortable...I'm guessing it was under 8 lbs...and the neck was perfect. I don't believe the fretboard edges were rolled, but the edges were definitely rounded...1.65 nut, felt like a Jazz bass neck to me. Looked very nice with the Candy Cola finish, but I think a black pickguard would've looked better...that's just nitpicking, though. Played along with my ipod as I always do. Must've played along to 9 or 10 songs...some hard rock and some softer stuff, too. Sounded great! I can only imagine it'd sound even better with some tapewounds or flatwounds.
  5. Bought it from Andre the Giant !
  6. Final price drop, now £1600
  7. No worries that's what I thought, worth a try though. If someone else wants to take the C4 off your hands let me know and take the controller. Cheers
  8. I have one of these and it’s very good. I don’t fiddle with the controls much, tending to leave it in passive mode in the usual 60:40 jazz pup mix but I do like the string spacing
  9. Wenge is not an expensive wood at all...
  10. For sale is my 1989 fretless Fender Japan JB-62 Jazz bass. This is a super reluctant sale as this was always a dream bass for me and being a fairly early Japanese Fender, it's also quite special. However, I'm starting to let some basses go and this sadly is first in line. The bass plays beautifully and is in excellent condition with a wonderful rosewood neck. Will also come with a Fender soft case and the tort pickguard. Based in Camberley and trial and collection is welcome. Can be shipped at buyers cost.
  11. Selling due to lack of use. Band I was going to use it in folded quickly. Fantastic pedal, very versatile and even more so with the Disaster area pedal allowing you easily switch through multiple settings. Barely used and with original boxes. Free stomp toppers if you want them, Velcro on bases but easily removed. Bargain for both £180 collected from Plymouth or £10 postage within the UK.
  12. Sold Luke some patch cables this week. Lovely to deal with and paid instantly. Recommended Basschatter! Simon

  14. You've got me digging my TC Mojo back out. I had been going with a DIY JPTR Jive for some colour but just tried them together and I think it'll be staying this way for a bit.
  15. Interested your a long way from me ever go to London
  16. Clarky bought my TE-1200. Faultless transaction, a pleasure to deal with 👍
  17. Always had great experiences with Ashdown, going back to when I had my first ABM in 2003. I've had several of them since, and on the rare occasions they proved not to be completely bulletproof, they've always been fantastic in either replacing or repairing them, and doing it quickly. And Dave has always been very responsive.
  18. Thanks Ped, will get deleting
  19. You can see all your attachments here mate https://www.basschat.co.uk/attachments/
  20. How do I find old photos to delete when I don’t know what posts/topics they’re on?
  21. Waiting on those pics …
  22. Can't help with the schematics but as a temporary work around drop the volume to zero before engaging the EQ.
  23. So new (to me) bass day, a rather nice Sandberg SL. Been looking for one for a while due to back issues and when I saw this up for grabs, in my favoured black/black/maple it just had to be. Just played it for about an hour and even without being set up as I like, and without my favoured Elixirs (currently has Elites steel rounds) it’s simply a dream to play. Not usually a fan of matching headstocks but I think it really suits it, plus - and shows my levels of OCD - it matches our guitarists Ibanez like this so I’m more than happy. I’m giving up gigging so this will be used at home and with my non-gigging classic rock band, this 6lb bass will make 4hr rehearsals a lot easier.
  24. For me the standout Ozzy performance is War Pigs on the Paranoid album. I can still remember the first time I ever heard that song on my record player when I was ten years old. My nephew bought that album on vinyl recently and he's thirteen. That's a time gap of going on for fifty years and he's into Sabbath just like I was. Black Sabbath are still the best to ever do that style of music. No one can get near them, even after all that time. Ozzy might (quite understandably) have been a bit shaky at the final gig but the rest of them were still a formidable unit. As far as I'm concerned they are one of Britain's greatest ever exports and something to be proud of.
  25. Wanted to try one of these for years, and talking to @Sean the other day only fueled the fire more! If my Orange OBC112s sell I'll probably be in touch.
