  2. I've got that offer, currently having a good look at it! Part of the difficulty is not being able to try it. Postage is great, but that means buying sight unseen.
  3. The term 'buzz' could refer to many things, concerning a bass. Mechanical (something loose inside vibrating..?), playing technique (strings too close to the frets..?), electrical problems (buzz from the amp/speakers..?) and much more. Two options, really... - Film yourself playing, making sure that the buzz is captured on the video, and post it here, so that we may see/hear what's going on, or... - Meet up with a fellow bass player (from this Forum..?), and show him/her the issue. Of course, a visit to a reputable technicien would do the trick, too, but the solution may be simple, if only 'we' (the Bass Hive...) knew precisely what you mean by 'buzz'. Any help..?
  4. Bolo

    Noise gates?

I'm using the ISP Decimator II. One knob, set at 1 o'clock, start of the chain. Bliss.
  5. Hi all apologies for the brevity of description - extensive photoshoot ain’t my thing. 7. Hi I’m thinking of making a slimline corvette inspired acoustic bass I’m going to make it about 40mm thick so I can’t fit a preamp to it, I know it won’t be very loud acoustically but I’ll only ever play it through a PA I’m thinking of fitting a ceramic transducer pickup under the saddle (Artec or similar) can I wire it up passive or do they need to be active? Also I know with disc piezo pickups if you solder a 0.1pF cap on the jack socket it takes some of the shrill tones away is that the same for a Ceramic one aswell? Any advice gratefully received 👍🏻
  8. I know. I've got my first proper reverb pedal too, so there's that.. I can see it getting silly tbh.
  9. There's an old Eden 2x10 I was watching on eBay for £150, seller sent an offer for £139. Even with postage it's a good deal.
  10. TBF most of the rehearsal room cabs I use these days have at least half the drivers blown so it should be ok
  11. The city is calling me deep into it. A city of beautiful places & faces, I'm always thinking of you. I had fun doing this one. Most parts are played on the Jupiter X, with the exception of the drums being NI Battery4, the ambient intro sound being NI Massive X & the leaky piano being NI Massive. Vocals are your's truly making use of the fantastic vocal designer in the Jupiter X. Enjoy. 😎
  12. Beautiful bass and an absolute bargain for a handmade British bass. If I had the funds it would be mine. My old French bass is strung with Chorda’s so bowing plain gut is proving a challenge though Paul Chambers, Major Holly, Slam Stewart and Edgar Meyer make a glorious sound their gut stringed instruments. (I had some lessons with Ben Wolfe and he told me Edgar played his Chorda strung bass and it sounded fantastic).

  14. Little update on mine. Cannot express how GOOD the OC-2 and OS sound going into some Chorus on the Quad Cortex, learning to love bass synth again 😁
  15. Might sound a bit daft but it could be the angle you're holding the bass at.... Try standing up with it hanging on a strap in a natural playing position. If you're tilting the bass various ways while you play to see where the buzz is coming from it can come and go. What's important is whether it buzzes when in a natural playing position. If it's new, and I know Jet has a good reputation but they are more towards the budget end, it possibly hasn't had the best set up out of the factory so it may need a proper set up. You can either do this yourself (watch loads of YouTube videos, Google, use this forum) or if you're not confident it find a local BC'er who may be kind enough to help
  16. Had a Radial ProDI for a while, mostly sat on a shelf since I got my Capo. Long story short, the pass through is fine but the XLR is completely dead. Not sure if it’s taken a bump or something but can’t see any obvious signs of damage, all looks fine inside. Any thoughts? Is it worth trying to get it fixed or should I just grab another?
  17. I have the new beta but the DLX is a legendary unit. It’s taking heaps of self control not to nab it. And I’m in Scotland 😭
  18. Bump - open to trades for Fender flavoured things.
  19. Well, you've all persuaded me. Will be ordering tomorrow. Has anyone got any kind of hard case for theirs?
  20. Nope, because it isn't a string through the body, the short scale will be fine. I've got one - enjoy it!
