It's probably worth digging this up again. This thread could do with it... - Today

A follow-up for anyone to whom it may concern. If you are a stoner/doom fuzz-head, follow the Method B described in the manual to tweak your Pre-Gain and turn this thing into a beast of a quasi-octave fuzz that can outgain many purpose-built gain monsters. If you are a funky person, follow the Method A instead. Tweak it right and you won't get a bad setting from this baby. If you want a little bit of both, still follow Method A. Even fine-tuned for funk-stank, it will deliver TONS of heavy gain if cranked. Also, mixing it with a different wah/autowah pedal and toying with the knobs will allow you to do the vowel (formant) wah, and setting it right (either LPF and "-" or HPF and "+" can create nice funky variations on slow-attack effect.

This was my son’s first kit, it’s spent the last year disassembled at his mum’s house though and it’s time to move it on. Missing a foot but everything else seems to be there. Will supply with a spare drum head but stool not included. First photo is from when it was set up at my house a few years back, others all from today. Collection only due to size etc…

I've had this for a few years and not really used it much, and with life about to get more expensive I can't justify keeping it. These are very hard to come by (hence the price), and it doesn't look like Spencer is going to be building them again any time soon. It's definitely one of the most malleable filters out there, with lots of controls for attack, decay, response etc, plus the FX loop. I don't have the original box, only the Wonderlove box it had when I bought it, but it does have the original instructions. Reduced to £800 Price includes insured delivery.

I’ve just finished watching it. I really enjoyed it and thought the final episode was the best. In the scope of basslines that are great, it actually covers little ground, but I can see potential in a further series. -
He was actually voted Behs Player of the Year, and was the only nominee.

Ask him why this one has the crappy Fender logo but his original one had the full 70's TV logo... -

Yes, I'll check and confirm the weight tonight (my time) and get back to you. In batch 2 we are going to experiement with a lighterweight redin based fill but I can't say how much weight it will save until it's in my hands..

Vocal Microphones, what are you using?
Chienmortbb replied to Phil Starr's topic in PA set up and use
Mics are quite a personal thing, I must admit that I usually hear both the SM58 and the XM8500 through. passive old monitors snd both sound a little thin to me. The difference in price is quite a lot though. We are lucky that we now have a good selection of both cardioid and super/hyper cardioid mics and do not just have the SM58/57. Super cardioid works well for me and I use mine to move offline when I sing but am not supposed to be. Sometimes I just cannot help myself. I have a selection of mics. My favourite is a Sontronics Solo, Super Cardioid, I also have Two Vintage Ramsa Dynamic Mics, WM-D120 and WM-D150 plus a Behringer BA 85A Dynamic Super Cardioid. All usable, all slightly different but the Sontronics is the clear winner. I also think it great to discuss equipment but sone people will take criticisms of their choice personally. - Yesterday

Guitarist just made our Christmas songs on YouTube public again that being the time of year. Three that came out of Lockdowns (along with other covers and a short album), but here we are coming up 6 years on and the enthusiasm to record and do other stuff to keep from the insanity of sitting in the house all day at bay seems to have waned We got a load of videos put together remotely, three Christmas songs, one a cover, and a six song EP/album produced during and following lockdown. A second EP was planned, but somehow it never happened once restrictions stopped. Shame really but 🤷♂️ Anyway...having brought a downer to the thread...Happy Christmas (early) one and all

For me, they are also the only flats with a usable B string. The worst B string being TI flats

I forgot to post this here. We released a new EP recently. We aren't straight doom. Got elements of thrash, a smidge of prog and a few other bits thrown in there. All mixed by me, recorded at Joe's Garage in Bristol. https://horadoom.bandcamp.com/album/witch-trial-sessions-vol-2 We're also organising Temple of Doom again on my birthday next year. So I'll be getting merry after our set! More bands to be announced. https://www.headfirstbristol.co.uk/whats-on/loco-klub/sat-23-may-temple-of-doom-vol-ii-140249#e140249

Loving this approach, I'm doing something similar, as in the modular approach. I have a "meat and potatoes" board for traditional bass duties... and then another x2 that patch in after this depending on the project I'm playing on.

Messy or not, what's on your (music) work desk right now?
mike257 replied to kiat's topic in General Discussion
This was my "desk" at work over the last couple of weeks. Out with a band that I'm tour managing, but we'd had to downsize the larger crew from our UK gigs for some smaller European shows, which meant I had some multitasking to do. This is my corner for guitar teching, mixing the IEMs off the iPad there, and that little Fender combo and Tele to the left was for me to jump on and play guitar for five songs because we couldn't fit the extra session guitarist in the downsized tour setup! -
