  2. Hi all, I'm selling this JHS Notadumble. This is a great sounding amp simulator, especially the clean channel which adds something really nice to your sound. It's in excellent condition, with velcro underneath. No original box. I'm looking for £140 including UK postage Bass the world demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O80YIWCezLY
  3. Ahem. *Coughs in Yamaha*
  4. Could be your new kitchen chopping board? 🤔
  5. Alan continues to make some of the best sounding and looking basses on the planet (I may be a touch biased). Don't 4 string necks look skinny next to 5 and 6 stringers? Lovely bases, congrats.
  6. Hard to go wrong with D’Addarios IMO. The nickel rounds seem to last for ages, are relatively cheap and are available in SS, MS, LS. I like their chrome flats as well and even their black nylon tapes, which I have on my Sire U5 fretless. The chromes are quite bright for flats, nothing like as dull as LaBella and half the price. Rotosound flats are really bright to my ears and not too expensive if you shop around. I went into a bit of a panic when Trump was threatening tariffs over Greenland and people were organising a boycott of US goods. What would I use instead of D’Addarios?
  7. Review with embedded video in case you were wondering what this pedal does https://www.thebasschannel.net/bloghome/tasty-tones-the-phat-phuk-b
  8. Look great,Like the cab sim option, hope they sell well. Got to support UK businesses. The after sales is the best in the Business, a lot of firms could learn this detail.
  9. I’m wondering that myself too. It appears from the photo the leather goes underneath the bridge. I also wonder if the leather will take away some of the high-end snap. I guess all will be revealed when it’s delivered!
  10. If flatwounds are not your thing, I can happily replace them with one of the following. I really do need to stop buying strings…….it’s a bad habit!
  11. Interesting, that must explain why things don’t seem to get that much louder when you turn up beyond 3 o’clock on the master? That’s with two cabs with a combined rating about twice the output of the amp.
  12. Looks like it should be ok!
  13. Let me know if the Neptunium goes on the chopping block mate
  14. Ibanez Iceman: Usually I'd say this sort of shaped bass isn't my bag, it's a specific rock/metal genre sort of look (which I don't tend to play), not having the upper horn but adding an extended lower one is an impractical design that doesn't balance well when standing and doesn't fit that well when sitting, it looks like quite a 'slab' sort of design with right-angle edges that would be uncomfortable, matte paint jobs are often a bit delicate,. It's a lot of style over ergonomics and practicality .....but it is stylish! I perhaps like the look of it enough to overlook boring practicalities. (although I think they've missed a trick by not having gold inlays). £889 seems a reaasonable price too. https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/detail/icb620_1p_01.html I also like the look of the new catchily named SR1320SB. And it does seem a more practical shape than the Iceman as well as having better pickups and preamp. (costs £1,299 though which I think is perhaps a bit steep). I'd need to pick one with the right woodgrain pattern though as some can look a bit like someone has been at the office party and sat on a photocopier! The white one would immediately get called a Zebra Bass. A similar look to the new Dingwall Sol, must be a 2026 thing.
  15. All good, just hope the masses of screen handles the accidental or misplaced mid song stomp!
  16. Human memory is very unreliable. Everytime you recall something it gets changed ever so slightly and written back with the changes. This is why two people can have completely different versions of the same event and why police use notebooks. Playing music is the same as telling stories. Everytime you play something, an embellishment creeps in, another member will adjust to the embellishment, another member will adjust to that adjustment. Any covers band who says they play it exactly as the original are deluding themselves unless they're regularly referring back to the original. I've had issues when practicing at home and finding the song completely different to what we play, at that point there is no point in referring to the original recording other than for V,C,M structure and chord progressions. Even bass lines will have changed to create an arrangement that works with our instrumentation. We play a lot of pop that has strings, brass, synth, piano, orchestra, drum machines etc. We have Drums, bass and guitar.
  17. Firewood for sure.
  18. Howdy all, Does anyone have any experience of using the current MINIMARK 802 N 300 for small gigs? I've read a few things on BC and elsewhere about the old version ( Minimark 802 ) but nothing on the new MINIMARK 802 N 300. Basically I'm looking for a compact lightweight allrounder for £600 ish mainly for home use, but possibly for occasional gigs. The older version seems to struggle with bottom end in larger venues, which I guess shouldn't be a surprise, but the new one is slightly bigger and more powerful (at least at 4 ohms - not sure about 8 ohms) so I wondered if that counts for anything? The type of scenario I'm thinking about is un-mic'd drum kit, small PA for vocals, audience of 50-100 people, in a range of styles. In the past I've used a couple of Peavey rigs with 15in main driver, (mainly a Peavy TNT 150 combo, playing blues and jazz) but that was a loooong time ago. I'm intrigued by the idea of using 8's, and really value compact size and low weight. As an alternative I'm thinking of a Warwick Gnome (200) and 2x TE 1x10 cabs for slightly more money. Cheers!

  20. New RBM Range Webpage Ant thoughts?
  21. Those bl00dy arpeggios though 😖
  22. Always LaBella 760FS-S for me. They're 045-105 stainless-steel flats. Not what I'd call bright but bright enough for me through my LFSys Monaco FRFR cab. Never had to change a set but then again I tend to change basses instead of strings 🙂
  23. Those pesky and interfering 90's TV kids eh 🤣
  24. EB Hybrid Slinky shortscale rounds for me, 45-105. I don't like the sound of new strings but these seem to bed in quickly and retain decent tone.
