Not exactly in the studio, but I bought myself a second hand M1 Pro MacBook Pro with 32gb of RAM a few weeks ago. Such an upgrade from my old mid-2012 version! I can't seem to run out of plugins to try out different mixing ideas which is really nice. I've re-mixed one of the songs from our first EP to something I'm much more pleased with generally. It's like a blanket has been lifted off. The aim is to secretly redo both the first and second EPs in secret and then present them to the band as an album. Generally, it's something I'd like to get more into as well. -

I set my Orange AD200B MKIII to about 85% Volume and about 15-20% Gain. It really starts to break up and get farty past this point. Is this normal? I just had it serviced, so maybe it's just not my 'flavour'.

Hi It was mine, I got it finished in 2023 (I think) but never used it.. as it took so long to get done, I lost the vibe to play it, It should of taken 4months then 8months, ended up taking about 3 years to build.. so in the end having not played it, I needed the money.. so sold it.. shame to sell it, but I have others..

I wholeheartedly concur with @Silky999 - this is a spectacular little bass with a rich and full sound - We even tuned the pickup angles between us, so it sounds perfectly even between each string. If I hadn't taken a 5-string Maruszczyk Mr.Tee Shortscale in P/X last week, I'd be having this myself! The engraved 'MGCS Basses' logo on the body is next level cool, too. -

It’s been a long time since I posted a board! Shure GLDX16+ into a Quad Cortex Mini, powered by a battery. Testing this evening went from 100% down to 70 odd in about 3hrs 11 mins before I switched it all off. That would be more than enough for a practice or gig. Whether I’m brave enough for that remains to be seen! 😂

Blue Aran do 1U power amps from cheap to expensive .. no idea if they’re any good but worth a look https://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=JMSX16&msh=JMF61 I use a Koch ATR-4502, made for guitar but I think it works fine on bass for me -
Richard, I still think yours is an absolutely beast and sounds phenomenal!! If you fancy changing your bridge, the Hipshot has adjustable spacing so you can line up the strings to the poles. Have you used the walnut/graphite in anger yet?

Arguably, the Crown Jewel of Rickenbacker Basses! 4002 basses were made from 1977-1984 in only two different finishes. It's likely that less than 100 were ever built. Historically, the kicker is that very little has been written about these basses. And yes, a handful of Factory Special 4002-type basses have been sporadically made by Rickenbacker since 2013. This video was created as a resource for anyone who's ever wanted to learn more about this rare bass. There was SO MUCH MORE to this story than I ever imagined! Enjoy!
