Just in case anybody is interested, I've designed and printed a complete port and flange for my 8" speaker. Its the correct length, 87mm, and is 64mm internal diameter and fits a 68mm hole. It has three M3 screw holes and the actual flange is sized so you can put M3 T-Nuts behind it and so they don't overlap the hole. It has a gasket groove on the back , so you can put 2mm x 10mm foam around the back of the flange, and when you tighten the screws up, it sits flush to the baffle board, but you now have a better seal. Especially useful if you port hole is a bit rough. It has simple text on the front, but I change that easily. I can print them in a variety of colours, but red is very popular at the moment as I still have 27 reels to go through I'll print them for free, I'll include some foam for the gasket, just pay for postage and a appropriate donation to the North West Air Ambulance of whatever you want to pay. I'd prefer it to be more than 1p but I won't check. I can adjust most things quite quickly and easily so if you wanted your name on them, or a different size or whatever just ask. Different colours can be done but only if I have those colours sitting on the shelf. Thanks Rob

Keeley Bassist - Boxed, Very good condition, velco fitted, no power supply. £120 Source Audio Hot Hand 3 - boxed. Think I plugged this in 10 years ago and couldn't be bothered with the learning curve. The rubber finish on the receiver is starting to go tacky, no idea what to ask for this, £30? Ampeg SGT-DI - Hasn't left the house, small mark above the "aux in" but otherwise very good knick. £230. Prices include UK shipping, any questions please ask, cheers!

I guess Rickenbacker lost the blueprints of these: Now that's a proper shortscale 4001. The proportions are slightly weird, but it's very cool.

Set of rack mount bars for a GK RB amp. I haven’t owned a GK amp for several years but they would have come off of either a 1001RB II or a 700RB III as I owned both. The bars are complete with all parts including screws. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

They're rubbish!! or maybe you just don't like them

Interesting, I think Coldplay are excellent, but I don't like them, Prince is a musical and songwriting genius but I find difficult to listen to and Precision basses are the best basses ever made but I prefer and play Jazz basses 🤣 -

Coldplay are brilliant. Prince is shit. Precision basses are crap. -
Opening the heavily sealed door marked "GAS - do not open your wallet" would I benefit from a B2 Four to replace my B3n? I have no problem with the B3n, and don't really need to change it, but you know how it goes. Newer is obviously better, but is it really in this case?

EmmettC started following Boss OC2 (Japanese)

Classic Japanese OC-2. Fully working. Cosmetically quite rough (reflected in the price). I don’t know the exact age and I’m not sure whether the ACA → 9V mod has been done, however: • Works perfectly on battery • Works perfectly when powered from my TU-3 (daisy-chain) • Tracks as expected and sounds exactly as an OC-2 should Currently fitted with a different BOSS base plate with Velcro on it, but includes the original rubber base and screws. No original box or manual. £150 UK postage: £10 Happy to meet in / around Edinburgh, or post at buyer’s cost

mowf started following New Rickenbacker short scale, the 4030S

Just out of curiosity last night I compared my Gibson EB-2 and Epiphone Jack Casady. The Gibson is 30" short scale but it is the same length overall as the 34" scale JC, and in fact they both have identical cases. Same as the 4030, the EB-2 has the same sized body but the bridge is in a different spot. So that was quite interesting.

Our musical leader got a stroke in an ambulance and clinically died there by Easter. Because of the personnel they were able to give the needed care, and we still have a leader. No one of us were ready to stop playing. Even our patient was driving us to play from the hospital. Now he is back and in good shape, although he cannot carry the stuff, but that's a small issue because he is alive and kicking. If I was you, I would continue making music with your group.

Everyone here knows what this is, an incredibly powerful and versatile synth pedal. I’ve been going back and forth between this and the MXR Bass Synth for the last couple of months, but for the sake of simplicity on live gigs I’ve decided to stick with the MXR for now. So, the C4 is up for sale. In great working order, velcro on the base. £120 Happy to meet in / around Edinburgh, or I can post for around £10 (at cost).

The case against Michael Mason was due to be heard at Leicester Crown Court, at 10:30am on 26th November. As the case moved from Leicester Magistrate's Court, to the Crown Court, it now has a additional and new reference (underlined, below, from the court listing below). "10:30am Michael MASON Leic Crown Sitting at Leic Mags Court #15 U20256478 (33JJ0821825)", taken from here https://courtlistings.co.uk/crown-court-listings/leicester#past-section and available for the next 10 days. The case has no status update against it, so I called the court for an update. I was told that the hearing was listed for a plea, and trial preparation; that Mr Mason entered a Not Guilty plea; and that the case has been adjourned until February 2026. I also asked the clerk whether I was permitted to share the above information. Yes - it is all a matter of public record.

Anyone got any experience selling a neck?
fretmeister replied to Thrillho_12's topic in General Discussion
Everything sells if the price is right for the current market conditions. Everything. Even a Lost Prophets album only signed by the singer (who shall not be named) will sell at the market appropriate price. That may not be the same value as you place on the item so you have a choice of dropping the price or being patient or adding value - such as tuners. There's loads of strat and tele type necks on ebay - a quick look will show that the ones with tuners are only a little more expensive - not really covering the cost of the tuners themselves - but they do sell a lot easier because it reduces hassle for the buyer. The ones without tuners often sit there for ages or sell for a pittance. -
This is the switchable 4–12 ohm version of the Barefaced 210S (no tweeter). Silver front, very classic look and a great sounding, very capable cab for its size. I bought this on here around a year and a half ago for £450, but I’ve simply not used it as much as I expected to, so I’m moving it on. Full disclosure: when I bought it, the Tolex on the back was already peeling and taped up. I haven’t needed to touch it since. It’s purely cosmetic and hasn’t affected use at all. Since buying it, I’ve added a Roqsolid cover, which will be included in the sale. Price: £400 I’m happy to try and source a box, but that may take some time. I’d definitely prefer local collection in / around Edinburgh, or a meet-up within a reasonable distance.

The new bass cabs should just be in the devices i.e. the cab block (I assume those are available on the nano cortex?)

They're rubbish!! or maybe you just don't like them
Bassassin replied to police squad's topic in General Discussion
It's an interesting & quite layered question. I've been trying to think of a band/artist who's objectively rubbish on every level - but I don't have a single example. I can think of any number of bands who have members with no discernible ability - oddly it's usually the vocalist, and even more oddly (or is it?) you can be confident that if they didn't have that vocalist, you'd never have heard of them. As examples I give you Liam Gallagher, Axl Rose, Ian Brown - terrible, terrible nails-on-blackboard 'singers' but all absolutely central to their bands' success, despite the fact you're left thinking the only reason they got to be in their bands in the first place was because it was their van or their PA or something... I think I grew out of the 'that's rubbish because I don't like/get it' mindset by the time I hit my 20s, and while there's a lot of music across all genres that I don't like (I'm a prog fan who thinks Dream Theater are utter dogsh!t, for example) I think I can be analytical enough to appreciate (maybe not the right word) why something works, and usually how, even if I hate it. -
A couple of years ago I replaced a bass player who had exactly the same experience. His wife wasn't well, and was finally diagnosed with dementia. He stopped playing to become a carer. I agree with Len, do everything, while you can.

The old Kawai ES-100 (now replaced by the ES-120) has proven its ability to be roadworthy as it's been used and abused by countless pro and non pro player as stage piano. You should maybe both, you @bass_dinger and @SumOne have a look at the ES-120. And almost all modern keyboards have the new USB (Host) to MIDI connection instead of the now oldish typical MIDI 5 pin connection: it needs 3 connectors to do less than the USB MIDI protocol and the new MIDI 2.0 does even more.
