The bass sale that turned a (massive) corner… - *SOLD*

As someone who’s been there and done that (albeit not with a 3Leaf), if you’re really happy with you’re, and not wanting for anything ‘more’….just stay as you are. Grass isn’t greener, I promise lol. Si

Another thing to research! Thanks!!

Guitar/bass valuations - any recommendations?

I have a Rolf signed stylophone in a cupboard somewhere. He even drew a rolfaroo on it. -
This is probably rarer than a pre CBS jazz bass now! Classic Hiscox case. Good used condition, some corrosion to the handles but they all work and the key is inside. Fender jazz used for illustration purposes only. I have no idea of value. Is £99 delivered too much? Guess we’ll let the market decide. I’m moving on to a flight case for a tour.

Another thing I've noticed about mine (old & current), is that they seem to be quite finicky about strings. I've had to try a few different brands before finding some that my bass seemed to sing with (D'Addario ProSteel), all the others just seemed a bit lacklustre in comparison. It may be a case of trying a bunch of different brands and finding the right set for your bass.

A friend of mine who I used to work with, queued up late at night for an album signing by ….lost prophets! I felt sorry for him 🙂 -
And all the more reason to buy one second hand... it's already been "relic-ed" by someone else

Indeed, I always hoped that Geddy & Alex would get together and produce some new music, let's hope that they still do. Let's also hope that they come to Europe & the UK too.

Looks ace! 😍

So it's actually a very authentic copy then? 😂 To be fair I am a fussy git. Which makes anything I do a nightmare, as unless I can get it absolutely spot I'm never happy. It's a curse I tells ya! 😁

One of the members is actually deceased, it's signed by all of Avenged Sevenfold before drummer 'the Rev' died. I think my friend looked into similar items and got a rough price in mind, but wants to be a bit more sure. That's fair enough, and thanks for the rec. 👍 - Today

I think that it is easy for folk to be critical from a distance but I think it is important to acknowledge that nearly all of us love what we do and dread the day that we will have put it down. If you love music and love making music, why the hell would you not carry on until you drop? I love the idea that they picked a female drummer in these days of toxic masculinity and mysogyny. I also think that, as great as NP was (and I loved his energy), there are better drummers out there by the truckload and I never thought he was irreplaceable (lyrics aside). And keyboards opens up a lot of potential for the tracks they historically struggled to perform live. I say good luck to all of them. There is no downside to the idea.

Just picked up a pair of KZ ZARs for a bandmate for £31.79 inc P&P from Ali XP. That's 40% less than I paid for mine 18 months back, and I thought they were good value back then!

I've gone and done it again....... This time it's a Mesa Boogie

I know, I know. Mixing different speaker cabs. Comb filtering etc. However, massive air shifting trumps all that malarky -
I think Paul McCartney pushed the 'go' button for them at the Taylor Hawkins shows. I thought they'd go with Mike Pourtnoy! But it's not! And they're getting a keyboard player!
-
I rather suspected that... But a gig at the top of Beeston Castle would be great, apart from carrying the gear up!

Gardiner Houlgate. Signed items are notoriously hard to value and sell. Better leave the market to decide. Unless it’s the Rolf Harris signed Stylophone I saw for sale on Facebook. That’s not worth much at all. -
Will and the team are great, had superb customer service when I bought my MIJ Jazz bass a couple of months ago, could not be happier with the bass or how I was dealt with

Not sure tbh . However if it was someone who is deceased or very rarely signs anything , then the value would be a lot higher . Maybe check the bands fan clubs and see what gives 🤔
