  2. Fender American FMT/QMT Deluxe Jazz bass 5-string. With original Fender hard case. Alder body, bound maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl inlays. Year – 2002 Colour – Tobacco Sunburst Body Finish – Gloss Body Wood – Alder Neck Finish – Satin Neck Wood – Maple Fretboard – Rosewood Frets – 20 Scale Length – 34″ Weight – 4057g (4.06kg) I purchased second-hand from BassBros in 2022 (Reciept for £1,375). Since owning, I had the back of the neck further de-satined, so it's lovely and fast. I also fitted luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots (although one is just slightly distorted - see pics) and Glockenklang 3-Band preamp. Original electrics available. Original BassBros listing (and better quality pictures) can be found here: https://bassbros.co.uk/sold-basses/2002-fender-american-deluxe-jazz-bass-qmt/
  3. Funny you gents mention Andertons - lovely shop for trying gear, I ve only ever bought cables and some strings off them. So much wonderful used gear around for ridiculous prices I just can’t bring myself to buy anything new (and have not the last 15yrs probably). Musically i am extremely diverse, I grew up on Jaco and jazz greats but have dabbled in experimental ambient and even metal at times.
  4. It took a long time because it's headless and they wanted to make up new ways of it being headless rather than using something that's been around for 40 years, like they do with the headed basses? Not sure about those string clamps - how secure are they against accidental release? And what real advantages do they offer over screw clamps for those of us whose time between string changes can be measured in months or years? Headless basses do seem to have regained popularity, which is nice.

  7. Sounds good! Nothing currently online featuring a bass, so if you're able to record a couple of clips for us that would be awesome!
  8. Hi Is this transcription still available? Cheers
  9. I'm setting off from M6 J20-ish with space in my car. If you want to ferry stuff to me on or before Saturday, I could take it and bring it back for you. David
  10. Bought a pedal off of Damon in a cracking deal. Very fast delivery also! Highly recommended!
  11. This is pretty much and Orange. Curiously, practicing with my Performer through my little 10W Joyo, I accidentally found a killer slap tone today.
  12. @Woodinblack I feel your pain. I depped a full-tilt rock band a few years back, and the pub use a pair of old church pews to separate the crown from the floor-level window alcove the band set up in. We had to play with one food on the pew (facing inwards to us) to keep them in place, which works well when you're in full rock mode (hello Harris and his Monitor Foot Stance) I'm gigging tonight in Reading with Jagged Little Alanis (http://jaggedlittlealanis.co.uk) at the Facebar (just off Reading's internal ring road, easy access and chatham street car park very close by). Should be a good one!
  13. Yes, indeed. I’ve not had a Korean or Indonesian-made G&L Tribute, so I can only compare this to a U.S. version. It’s very nice indeed. Aside from the tuners, which are a bit stiff, it is indistinguishable from my U.S. L-2000. It has a 4-bolt neck plate like a Fender.
  14. I'll have you covered at the bash with my Wunkay. A shottie of my Wunkay for a shottie of your Performer?
  15. It is the one thing that really puts me off... the pregnant woman profile. FWIW I like the Sire headstock. All said, this thread has sparked an interest in trying out a G&L.
  16. that's the numbers i recall
  17. Selling this great outboard bass preamp on behalf of my friend Alex Lofoco. The preamp is currently in Rome and can be shipped from there or from London when Alex comes over next. This is the original Sadowsky Outboard preamp which was built by Fishman - this particular unit was built on Dec 14th 1992 and and includes a belt/strap clip and a battery compartment. Any questions, let me know!
  18. A bit too up close and personal. A local place in the next village that we hadn't played before so didn't really know much about it. Seemed to be a lot of space when we started but there was a pinch point between the door and the bar and my microphone stand! So in the first half, the first hour there wasn't that much interaction, a few dancers, mostly of people we knew who came out because we were there, and applause from them, and a few other intersted crowd that just watched. The last 15 minutes of the first half we tailed off the rock stuff and the crowd got more interested and interactive, as is generally the way. The second half was pretty well flat out the whole time and we had to retreat back a bit closer towards the wall as space became trickier. The guitarist put some small stools in front of his pedalboard to stop people from jumping on it! There was a security woman who thankfully kept pushing them back a bit when they were bashing into my microphone - the joys of pubs huh? Still they all seemed to enjoy it and the barstaff seemed happy at the end of the day so its nice to open up new venues. Usual problems, took a while to work out why no sound when I started, transmitter and receiver the wrong way round! Drummers drum lights burned out half way through, forgot to charge my page turner. On the plus side, sax player got a new wireless (nux sax thing instead of shure) and no longer got clicks and pops from it - a bit of feedback but probably at the moment it is still set for the shure so needs some adjustments. It is a lot easier to setup.

  20. Whereabouts in Warwickshire ?
  21. But it's a Gary Willis (fretless) with real men strings spacing (19mm).
  22. Picnic! At the Disco And maybe Arctic Donkeys if it hasn't been done already
  23. I'll keep quiet if you will. 😂
  24. I haven’t compared them personally, but a guy who bought one of The Duke from me, told me, it sounded quite the same as Fender PV63.
