High Quality 3/4 DB Gigbag - suggestions?
Happy Jack replied to Happy Jack's topic in EUB and Double Bass
The bottom end of Broadway (down near the Cumberland River) is one of my favorite places on the planet. -
I've only done a couple of weddings with what were normally pub bands, and they were for friends of band members and were OK. However, I did a few with the ceilidh band and they were very hit and miss, sometimes waiting for ages to set up because we were going to be playing in the room that the speeches were being done in, sometimes having to cope with extremely drunk dancers.

It was behind the PA tower, band members, monitors and had a wall 12ft in front. This is all really useful. I'm making notes and putting them in my gig notebook. Thanks chaps.

It's debatable whether she does. I have to say, I find her vid's hilarious. They're so obviously mimed tripe that anyone who is fooled only has themselves to blame. I particularly like the one in which her mum twiddles the knobs on a $59 mixer (with, of course, no effect on the sound) whilst our heroine gives it large.

Great insight. Thank you, Phil. I was asked to swap sides with guitarist on the night. I'm always stage left, high-hat side but was swapped on the night. My cab was placed for me, although saying that, there wasn't much choice with position.

I don't know why I do this to myself sometimes. The latest incidence of self harm is the complete lunacy that is the Jimmy Johnson bass part for the tune 'Grasshopper' from the 1980 Wayne Johnson Trio album of the same name. If you haven't heard it before, you are in for a treat. This is probably as good as 'bass' playing gets and, having bought the record when it came out, I don't think I have heard anything that has bested it. Stunning stuff. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/grasshopper-wayne-johnson-trio/

Beware of the foamy grip material on cheap hangers, it can perish in a short space of time and get very stubborn gunk stuck to the necks! Unfortunately speaking from experience

It's two thirds of a 63 neck and replacement parts. I can't see many folk going for that!

Most of these are Hercules, some are String Swing, which are also decent. I've put more up in the studio since that photo was taken and have 8 more on walls in the house. None have failed yet!

Hercules do make a long arm hanger. However, I don't trust it for anything heavier than an Ashbory.
