    Any cab sim in your signal chain will help! Even if you run it separately to the FOH. Other commenters are correct in that the audience can't hear your signal, but at the same time having a great sound in your ears can help you really get into the groove playing live! If you want to experiment try the Harley Benton magnum DI, dirt cheap and really is a secret sauce type deal!

    I've seen Chris play live a couple of times (a while back now), and apart from his ridiculous skills, he really gets into it. It tired me out just watching him. 😁 But, when he plays Arco, he can be very gentle and subtle. That's the thing with him, he's very versatile with obvious classical training. He's a very driving player (on both upright and electric). I'm surprised he doesn't get mentioned here on Basschat. But, if you do a search over on 'TalkBass', there are a few posts mentioning him.

    There is a thread on here somewhere referencing solo bass albums and I checked a load of them out. This album was the first time I have knowingly heard this guy (although, looking at his CV, I have probably heard him somewhere along the way). The tune is by Cuban folk artist Silvio Rodriguez and this is the complete transcription of the solo bass of Anders Jormin.     Using reverb to enhance the IEM experience My understanding is that reverb isn't particularly widely used by your average pop / rock set bassists like me, but the IEM interaction is an interesting one! Apparently a very subtle hall (or hall-like) reverb in IEMs can make the bass tone subjectively nicer and the gigging experience more pleasurable for the bassist, even though it does not improve articulation in a technical sense. This is a monitoring and human-factors issue, not a tonal-engineering one. IEMs lack: - acoustic coupling with the room - cabinet air movement - spatial cues from reflections So, a small amount of ambience: - Restores a sense of physical space - Reduces the “dry DI in your skull” effect - Makes sustained notes feel more musical - Lowers perceived fatigue over a long set Not something I've given much thought to before! Dunno if this chimes with other IEM users' experience?

    hi, it is to cycle through presets without bending down. very useful, last week we did Remember the time straight into Material girl (preset 1 into preset 2) life saver! I like the AMT very much, very capable for its size. warms up the tone quite nicely, can even provide low gain tube hair. loads of options available via switches too. Alembic tube pre based according to description, but I haven’t tried the real deal for comparison.

    Short scale bass (30”) Olympic white, alder body “C”-shaped maple neck and a pau ferro fingerboard. Pickups are a PJ configuration which are full size vintage-style single-coils. The controls are volume and tone, with a 3-position toggle switch. Sound’s great and comfortable to play. With good soft carry case. Any trial. Location WV14. Would consider shipping. Cheers Geoff
