It's everywhere, but this stupid idea comes from the USA.

Not all all. The limit on the Interstate north of Concord is 70/112, so they don't bat an eye if you're doing 80/129. If you want to see nuts try the New Jersey Turnpike. 90/145 is common, and most of the cars you see doing that are junkers that probably aren't safe at half that speed. And if you've ever driven in Quebec you know that the speed limits there are just suggestions.

I'll admit that I couldn't listen right to the end, bu there was nothing nefarious that particularly shocked me in the snare sound. It gets a resounding 'Bof' from me.

I have relatives through marriage who were murdered by 'loyalist' paramilitaries thanks to the assistance afforded them by MI5. I don't like to see anybody killed as a result of war, religion or anything else. Kneecap haven't killed anyone. Long live Palestine 🇵🇸

NBD: In the spirit to lose my head!

Many years ago I had a dream where I went into a guitar shop and asked to play the Aria Cliff Burton bass they had. It was on the ceiling and, by the time the guy in the shop had brought it down, it had turned into one of these. Not wanting to appear rude I had a quick play and heard the most beautiful bass tone ever... so pure and lush that a crowd gathered to hear where this amazing sound was coming from. Needless to say they've been on my mind ever since. I hope yours sounds as glorious as mine did 😆 -

Anyone else notice the bored looking munchkin in front of Ms Eavis ? I'm guessing Grand daughter, someone should tell her how many ice creams mummy's share of the take would buy.... 😎

Not really. Barts and EMG soapbars are smaller. When I replaced the pickups in mine the nearest thing was get rosewood covers and load them with Warman Jazzbars even then there was a fair gap.

....hmmm, can't see Jools booking Wunderhorse anytime soon I get it though. I watched a bit of The Script....if U2 & Coldplay had a child! Total Blandsville.

First announced in 2022. Peavey then showed some, IMO poorly finished, samples at NAMM 2023. Those disappeared for "QC" reasons and the company rolled out a "should be next month" excuse until Feb 2025 🤣 I'm thinking it's repeat of the 2017 Cirrus reissue with Peavey taking delivery of the first batch then hoping they get enough orders to warrant a 2nd production run. Doubt they'll reach that magic number as, just like 2017, none of their distributors are carrying the line. Yet again Peavey are trying to sell a non-US built product to the US market, one which costs nearly 3 times as much as an original used US version fetches.

Depends on your view of art to reinforce the status who or challenge it.   Someone earlier on described Glasto as a sunny and extended Jools Holland session. I reckon that’s not too far off the mark. Anyway, off into the beautiful sunshine myself!

I may have been at that one... what year was it? I went to 3 guitar/bass shows around 2001-2006ish and met Jim Marshall at all 3. I still have 3 Marshall posters (one of Jim in front of a wall of Marshall stacks, one of Jim and Nico McBrain and one of Hendrix) all signed by Jim and made out to me and all with different dates on them. Two are on my studio wall next to a Birdhouse flyer signed by Tony Hawk fly, a few signed set lists from various gigs and a Tim Russ (Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager) signed promo photo! Not sure where the third is Jim poster is... 🤔 Found a photo, 2003, 2004 and 2005. 👍

I guess so. Without a thread derail though it must be kind of obvious to most people now that there are deep structural issues with capitalism and neither right nor left have a solution. The best I hope for is not to turn on each other and make things even more ugly. So anyone preaching division or proposing violence as a solution whether with a guitar or ballot box can just fcuk off.

Many, many moons ago I did a stint on the Conklin stand at a guitar show when it was held in Docklands. Honestly no idea how it came about; drummer at the time had a Yamaha endorsement and he seemed to have this lucid connection (by association) with the UK importers of Hamer and Warwick (who were based in Ascot at the time). So we drive up. Get lost in Docklands, are followed, then pulled over and questioned by the police. We're late and arrive, I'm in the booth and told to play the seven-string. I notice that the bridge doesn't fit the body shape and was told to try and cover it up with my right hand while playing. I do 45-60 minutes and it's all over. I'm rewarded with an EBS Octaver pedal for my trouble and as I had a lanyard, I have blagging rights (so free Rotosound strings and I get to meet Jim Marshall). What a day.

Saw the stuff on bbc four or whatever it was - a bit disjointed with not much of many groups. So saw Alanis, which I guess was ok, wasn't that impressed with you ought to know, seemed like she had got over it! I guess ok if you were there. Saw En Vogue - not generally my sort of thing, but very professional and tight, the bass player was great, and there was the funny contrast of 4 black girls on stage, then panning across the most white middle class audience you could possible get anywhere. Then a few individual songs, Yusuf Islam, one song, I didn't know, my wife did, seemed ok. Then biffy clyro, never got them so stopped watching at that point. then went back for the live catchup (which is odd, I guess that makes it not live!), so I could see the glass beams gig which I thought was pretty good Haven't seen any today but going to look if pulp were any good.

What D-tuner is fitted to Sandberg California II TM4 Ida Nielsen ?
JazzyJ replied to Aidan63's topic in Repairs and Technical
I ended up going down the BT7 route. A very slight ream was required to accommodate the ferrule. Done two Cal2's now. All good 👍 -
It's a superb example of Carol Kaye's bass of choice from 2002. These don't come up too often. Condition is remarkable for the age. It's even got the plastic film on the cavity covers. It's Korean-built and we know they know how to do neck-through properly. The build quality is stunning as is the grain of the ash wings. The neck profile is what I'd call slim modern J. Controls are: Vol, Blend, Treble, Bass. It's been deep cleaned and set up beautifully (med/low) with D'Addario EXL170BT strings. that's a balanced tension set. As per all my rosewood board instruments, it's been treated with Montypresso. Frets are level and polished to 7000 grit. All electronics have been checked and all pots cleaned. New battery fitted today. Truss rod is perfect. It's 4.4kg. I've got proper packaging and am happy to ship insured at buyers expense, which will be about £30. If you're undecided and fancy trying it out, I can usually accommodate a try-out with some notice weekdays or weekends.

I sometimes play 'fingerstyle' like that, but usually 2 or 3 fingers (sometimes 4 for trills)

It’s all performative stuff, it’s very punk and all that. And of course one man’s terrorist is another man’s revolutionary. If you’re upsetting Keir Starmer and Kemi you’re doing alright by me. (My tongue is very firmly in my cheek. Please do not consider this an endorsement for the IRA!)

Well first, i had both and so well aware of what they can do. Thanks for confirming it though 😏. After a few weeks with both, and never once trying to get an SVT tone, i just missed the BDDI. i gigged with one for at least 20 years. Never did i want an SVT tone, i just like what it does to a P bass. If thats close to SVT fair enough, but it’s certainly not what a real SVT rig sounds like in my experience and ive never wanted that sound. The BDDI does much more than an SVT sim anyway. I dont run with the blend higher above 10 o ‘clock so it’s not a hugely coloured sound. The NUX has at least 2 SVT IR’s, so i disagree that both aren’t trying to do SVT. The NUX is way more versatile than the Laney as far as features. The Laney on the other hand sounded bland and weak. EQ is subtle and drive is cold. Probaly why they arent as popular as other preamps. Nice enough i guess but a bit lacking tone wise.
