  2. It was only recently that I acquired a car with enough space to take stuff to the tip. Then I discovered that you have to book a time slot in advance for visiting the tip. Sod that. I am rapidly running out of empty floor space for all me tat.
  3. I will take that 👍
  4. Hi all, I'm selling this Hipshot HE6C-3/8 Ultralite D-Tuner X-Tender 3/8 Bass - Black (20680B). I bought this for a parts project but it never got used. Good condition, minor scuffs around the peg and nut. Mouting screw included. £60 Price includes UK postage
  5. True Love Leaves No Traces — Leonard Cohen
  6. A review of this amp can be seen here, and Vox's product page is worth a look. As the reviewer mentions, this amp is both small and light (< 5kg) and also loud; I've used it for several jams and also a gig (all with a drummer and various saxes etc.) and it has been fine. I never much liked the tone (a bit too rock) or used the effects, so I've replaced it with the recently-discontinued jazz version whilst I still can. I've not included postage in the price as I don't know how much it will be, but in the event of anyone being interested we can discuss options. The box is still present and I'll put in the unused new power supply from the replacement amp (it's identical). There are a couple of small marks on the bottom of the grill surround (pictured) but otherwise it's in good condition and all working.
  7. I'm selling a complete pack of DR Nickel Lo-Rider 40-100, only the G string has been opened and installed, but not cut. I knew from just installing the G string that these strings weren't for me, too much tension compared to the round cores I'm used to. £24 Price includes UK postage
  8. Last night was one of those final rehearsals that was so bad, you just know it’s going to be great on the night!
  9. Just a quick warning to anyone adjusting the truss rod on a Sire bass for the first time. Needed to adjust the one on my V10 fretless after owning it for about 3 weeks it has obviously adjusted to the ambients in my bunker. Sire provide a nice long handled long reach key but it is just slightly too small. I was tempted to go with it, but grabbed the one for my strat which was a better fit. The rod was quite tight and had I used the key supplied it would definitely have stripped either the key or the socket. so just a heads up. Apart from that, the over tight string guide on the headstock and the non existent set up the bass had when it arrived (all sorted) I am quite pleased with the build quality. Sounds killer too.
  10. @eude and @skelf thats an absolutely stunning instrument. Love the approach from ACG to be as bespoke as possible for the player. You are a lucky man with that bass Eude. Jonny
  11. We played Grip more or less correctly for the first time. We also had a go at Nice and Sleazy, we can get to the end of the verse before the wheels falll off.
  12. Every musician knows all about GAS, especially those of us unfortunate enough to be Basschat lifers, but aren't we all ignoring the elephant in the room? I'm talking of course about PHOTOS ... Pathological Hoarding Of Tons Of Shit. I mean, I don't know about you guys, but I'm now on my third lockup and it's getting out of hand. Perhaps there should be a Sub-Forum?
  13. Why the ironing board?

  15. It was documented as cut and boost in the manual: www.musicmanbass.global/1978-hangtag-manual/
  16. Something simple - a request from another forum; the bass part to 'Nossa Gente (Avisa La) from Brazil's Oladum (the recording is featured on a 20 year compilation and I cannot find any details of any of the players, never mind the bass. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/nossa-gente-avisa-la-olodum/
  17. PMd You Thanks!
  18. Because of the times - Kings of Leon Not an obvious ‘bass in ya face’ type thing but such melodic lines, with really cool rhythmic nuances. I think he’s a seriously underrated rock bass player. And, that and their second album were released at a time in my life that they influenced me deeply and made me want to be a better player!
  19. New Korg KAOSS Pad V announced: "KORG probably took a look around the music-making environment and realized that there are a lot of guitarists buying pedals these days. With them in mind, the new KAOSS PAD has a Hi-Z jack for accepting guitar and bass DI. “A dedicated high-impedance input makes it easy to connect electric guitar or bass directly with no additional hardware required,” says KORG. “Explore textures like ambient swells, rhythmic modulation, time-based glitch effects, or reverb soundscapes, all shaped by simple fingertip control.” https://www.gearnews.com/korg-kaoss-pad-v-studio/ The last bit 'all shaped by fingertip control' is going to be the issue, my fingertips are usually somewhat busy when playing bass! But I guess some things like chorus can just be turned on/off as a preset and dynamic stuff like playing a long note and then use the KAOSS to add tape echo and changing rate and feedback with fingers for a dub sort of effect could work. There's a change in the air with big companies like Korg, Akai, Roland all recently releasing units that properly include Guitar/Bass as a use. Being mass produced units selling to a much wider audience you get a lot of bang for your buck - and they can also be used for vocals, keyboards, production etc. They all lack footswitch control though, perhaps that can be added available via their midi controls.
  20. Some branded pedals I'm just not using so looking to get rid. Darkglass Element - £130 Zoom multistomp MS-70CDR+ - £75 Analog Music Company So High So Low - £100 All prices include postage.

  22. Great bit of kit this and I love mine. You won't be disappointed if you're after some EQ, Gain and Compression. GLWTS lapolpora
  23. Yeah, exactly what we have started doing at work. Its just very frustrating when a customer says they have done everything required, looks fine at their end, and all they have done is added 3mm of white space instead 🙄. We call it Canva ping pong.
