Edit - he's now pulled out the gold Jack Casady which also sounds fantastic and is making me think maybe it's actually the Ampeg behind him that I want. It was a great sound! I didn’t like the Casady as much as the P, not quite so in your face. A bass with a P pickup in the normal position through a Tech21 VTDI will get you where you want, without the need for a chiropractor after, it’s what I do . 1 Quote

Stub Mandrel Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Peter Capaldi had a great time with Franz Ferdinand, and they seemed to be doing a good job too: https://fb.watch/Ax75cP1lNG/ 5 Quote

casapete Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Celeste - blimey, couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket. I’ve seen her perform a few times, and her pitching ( or rather lack of it ) has always seemed to be an issue. She has an ’interesting’ voice but for me the random pitching thing is just too much for me to tolerate. 2 Quote

Yeah great tone, going by the burst looked like a 70s Precision, but whatever, sounded great. Quote

SuperSeagull Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Just caught a little of a band new to me called Divorce playing in that little off stage set the BBC have. Excellent musicians and a great female lead vocalist playing what looked like a short scale Rickenfaker. Nice. Quote

I have a P bass, a Jack Casady and an Ampeg. I can assure you it’s all three you want. 1 Quote
mowf Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Is it just me, or is there a concerted effort this year for every snare drum to sound like someone dropping a wet cardboard box? Quote
mep Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Party time with Nile Rodgers & Chic. Bass a bit low in the mix. I'll be seeing them on Thursday evening at Powerham Castle when they support Duran Duran. 2 mega bass players to enjoy there! 1 Quote
