At least you still have a chance of snagging a ZZB if you keep your eyes open...

True.  Plus Kate hasn't got back to me yet, so technically both options are still open.

Kramer Forum lll…..originally came active with   Spector pickups & preamp. Can’t find much info on them tho 🤔

This is what I recall, from having the Kramer catalog on my wall at 13 years old 😆

They were made in Japan! (1&2 maybe 3&4 poss Korea)  4 models

Forum 1- neck through,Carved body, EMG pickups and pre, Spector Bridge, shark inlays  (effectively MIJ pointy Spector) My dream pointy bass

Forum 2- same but bolt on and flat body/top

Forum 3 - Neck through, Flat body,Spector branded pickups and preamp (As per the Korean Spector NS2a) and spector Bridge,  diamond inlays . Available in a few garish 80s colours.

Forum 4-  same but bolt on

Deep cutaways on all 4, and lots of wacky colours, I've never seen one in the flesh, only the guitars when I was a kid. I'd love a Forum 1 in white 😍

The 'Argos' thread in OT made me wonder if this qualifies as properly pointy:

Always thought these were genuinely great-looking basses, 90s or early '00s I think. Rare as anything.

Can't believe I passed one up on here for £99 about 10 years ago, due to being brutally skint!

Well, it had me wincing at the thought of getting poked in the eye by it, so I reckon it's pointy enough!

Except what?

That's exactly what the sentence you replied to imply:

This is more eighties than the actual eighties.

As pointy as I dared go in the 1980s. All points rounded tastefully to avoid having someones eye out.  Still pointy enough though not to be able to stand up straight when leaning against a stack, or a wall etc.

Very art deco. If the 30s had had electric guitars, this would have been one of them. The exact reverse of being ahead of its time.

I remember having an Ibanez Destroyer 2 bass back in the day, probably the 3rd / 4th Bass I ever owned. Seem to remember thinking it was actually pretty good but felt a little stupid playing it in public..

If Picasso had made basses...

Love the red and white chicken head knobs.
