Really Free by John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett. (yes, I know Otway had a second hit 25 years later, but I count that as MY hit, not his :) )

Saw them play in in Cambridge back in the day, great live act

My choice - "Feels like heaven" by Fiction Factory; takes me right back to a particular time in my life

If I've ever seen a longer, stronger, string of hits! :o
:D

Still, I feel that Flash and the Pan are within the boundaries of this thread.
Here's their "Hey, St. Peter"

How long by Ace.
Saw them as bottom of the bill on a pub rock special at Guildford Civic Hall below Bees Make Honey, Dr Feelgood and Charlie and the Wide Boys. A few later weeks later they were on TOTP.

Zodiac Mindwarp - Prime mover got a top 20 I think.
Loved it when it came out. Comedy value :)

From a great album. Most people didn't 'get it' :)

No! 😄. Never had to play it, luckily!
Mr Beck is, as we know, a stellar guitarist with a distinguished career. But to maybe 95% of people he's a one hit wonder.

I for one always loved playing Hi Ho. Not for the song but for the guaranteed audience reaction as a bunch of tipsy wedding guests linked arms and sang/yelled along to it half way through the last set of the evening. We always medleyed it with Sweet Caroline and it was guaranteed to bring the house down. Like it or not, when your remit is to please the crowd don't look down on a guaranteed crowd pleaser!

Not sure if one hit wonders but :-
January - Pilot

Dave

More of a two hit wonder... "Oh woh oh, it's magic..." Another cracking Pilot hit. Talented band, went on to be the backing band for Kate Bush's first two albums and the Alan Parsons a Project. Davey Paton and Iain Bairnson, top players!

Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss Me

Was just thinking I should have mentioned those songs too...

I'll add Coisich A Ruin by Capercaillie (and the B-side, Waiting For The Wheel To Turn)... The highest charting ever Scots Gaelic single.

Bit of a guilty pleasure (not to mention the incredibly '80s video) but does anyone know what happened to Tasmin Archer after Sleeping Satellite?

I always rather liked this. And she seemed like a really nice person. I too wonder what happened to her.

More of a guest vocalist thing as PLJ already existed without Rod, but you're right that he sang on their greatest (only?) hit.

There is/was a BCer who played with them. Unfortunately I've forgotten who now. It wasn't you, was it? :-)
