Cosmo Valdemar
Anybody seen these yet? Apologies if they've already been mentioned. Not sure what to think really! Looks quite versatile with all those switching options but I reckon that pickup is just too far back for me. white/maple: http://www.andertons.co.uk/electric-...mpic-white.asp Charcoal transparent/rosewood: http://www.andertons.co.uk/electric-...ransparent.asp Candy apple red/rosewood: http://www.andertons.co.uk/electric-...-apple-red.asp
wateroftyne
Boring old Fender... never trying anything new....
MarkG3
I haven't seen them before but not really my thing!
AndyTravis
Hum. They're having a do. I'm not sure what I think. Fair play to them. Edit - It Looks like a Status Groove Bass...No Bad thing. Edited July 1, 2013 by AndyTravis
Dread Bass
I quite like it actually.

Wylie
From the blurb: "... a special five-position rotary pickup selector switch that delivers enormous tonal versatility from the three-coil pickup (front coil alone, front and middle coil together, all three coils together, middle and rear coils together, rear coil alone) ..." Is this what's called 'jumping the shark' or, in less elegant terms, overkill? How can a single, mid-position pickup deliver 'enormous tonal diversity'? Can this possibly be an improvement over an off-the-rack jazz bass? W.
Musicman20
It's like a poor version of a USA Musicman Sterling.
dannybuoy
Similar pickup config to the Ibanez ATK. Still, very cheap for a Fender, are these MIM?
Cat Burrito
Forgive my damning praise but I sit in the "I like it but wouldn't buy it" camp
leonshelley01
I presume these are Chinese like the other Modern Player basses and guitars.
dazza14
Pickup position seems pretty perfect for where i place my right hand but... YUCK!!
stoker
If it had 2 of those p/ups I'd be tempted. Would want to try it first though.
Lozz196
Looks very much to me like a "we want to see if we can tap in to Musicman sound" type of bass. I dare say if these become successful a US Series may be on the way. I like the styling, and would like to hear one. Doubt I`d buy one, I`m too far into Precisions to try new sounds. neepheid
I'm seeing a bit of Gibson Victory in the body shape - now THAT'S weird
M-Bass-M
It's a bit underwhelming at first, but then slowly you start to get intrigued by the whole bass. It's a reasonably priced Fender, that looks like it might do some Stingray-esque tones...not sure it would be your main bass, but could work as a very nice backup! Graham
Yip!
And another, glad they're doing something new though, I quite like the idea of a single pickup with the rotary switch. Edit: that should have read, "something new that doesn't look like they've raided the spares draw and jammed together whatever was available" Edited July 2, 2013 by Graham
xilddx
Jesus that's an ugly bastard. No golden proportions on that thing.
Fat Rich
All Fenders are pretty ugly at first glance, but they grow on you after a few decades.
shizznit
Not fussed on the design, but quite a lot of bass for the money. Fender seem to focussing on their budget market quite a bit in recent years.
Mr Fretbuzz
Just spotted these.... White would be a nice addition but I think I'll go for the Cabronita instead :-)
Grand Wazoo
Well there is a definately tendence towards the MusicMan market, the truss rod wheel adjustment at the end of the neck has only ever been used by EBMM up to now... (now watch Gareth order one...) LOL I can't understand why they couldn't fit a tone control, you have 2 knobs one does a 5 position rotary pickup switch and the other volume but no feck'en tone!! Idjits! Edited July 24, 2013 by Grand Wazoo
Green Alsatian
Demo from Fender now up - sounds pretty decent this. The Fender headstock looks a bit out of place on that body shape - a bit like a priest wearing a tracksuit. Mr Fretbuzz
I like Fenders but not sure I like the sound of this one. Prefer the Cabronita :-)
