Yeah, very good and all that. I can see that he is indeed quite skilled at doing wot he is doing .... but it's not bass playing to me.

Well said that man
Give me Lynott, Foxton, Sting, Geddy, Lemmy and JJ.

So what you're saying is you like rock music. That's cool, but the 'is this bass playing' argument is as old as the f***ing hills.

Nice little solo there, he's a very skilled player no doubt. Can't write a tune to save his life, if his albums are anything to go by. They bore me to tears. Aphex Twin on the other hand...

Much as I like SP, this is just a repetitive slid 7th chord with a bit of flutter... No I couldn't do it but I wouldn't want to... Bring back Hard Normal Daddy.

And he looks like Bill Bailey in this which is distracting.

They're pretty intense sometimes. He has too much of a mathematical approach to songs, quite a lot of production going on. He is a hell of a musican though.

Catchy tune, no doubt I'll be whistling that all day tomorrow.

Someone once played me a track of his that heavily relied on him playing harmonics on the bass - I've no idea what its called - anybody know which track i'm on about?

The superb harmonic. Awed tune is 'iambic 5 poetry' off Ultravisitor. Very good stuff. He knows a tune.

Very good - Pan your first post hard left, and pan the second post hard right with some delay.
Would make a lovely stereo spread. :)

I like that high action slap sound he gets, nice, tight and articulated.
