I appreciate this may be a phase, but I look forward to the day that I find *my* bass, like you seem to with Mustangs/Musicmasters. It's always fun to buy and sell gear - but having a bass style you just enjoy playing is really the end goal for most of us. They look great!

It could just be the online pictures, but the monorail bridge looks like it sticks out a long way. Far more obviously than alternatives like the EHB

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!

Just spotted this after looking at Alnus basses from another thread. A replacement Mustang neck for under £200 - think that could be of use to any future short scale projects people may have in mind! https://reverb.com/uk/item/83942186-luthier-made-mustang-bass-neck -
Whilst they might be yet another clone - he does make replacement Jazz/P/Mustang necks for under £200. That's not bad all things considered.

Even Billy Sheehan is getting in on the short scale fun. Took inspiration from you @ped 😅 -
Bass The World - Harley Benton Signature Bass.

I reckon it'll be closer to £600 - which will be an interesting place for HB to be. Will be aiming to go above Sire at the £400 with better hardware and electronics. But not enough to make the brand snobs think it's too close to a base range of Fender. I don't really get on with Jazz basses but these do look good! -
A short vid about the lightweight V6 - looks cool!

Yup - and little extenders so you can use a wall hanger? @Bass Direct estimate of price?

I might keep an eye on it. AliExpress tend to have random sales so if it gets down to around about £150, it could be worth a punt. Especially as it seems to have an built-in headphone amp. -

$4000 down to $450 is always a bit suspect, but it does look cool! -
JB-62CC Mini SP - Harley Benton https://share.google/PcjFJeHxomT5Dheq6 A 23inch scale Jazz bass might do the trick?

If I wasn't so sensible, that Decision P would be hanging on my wall. So good.

When I was younger, I had pictures of BC Rich, Warlocks and Buzzards as my desktop background, so was definitely in to a bit more ostentatious basses. I still like to do things a bit differently. Whether it be a Yamaha BB over a Fender PJ or a Reverend over Fender, that type of thing.

Forget flats and rounds - these are curlies!

It's an easy mistake to make. The P and the T are on the same row of the keyboard at least 😂 -
Another option for all you medium scalers - Gretsch CVT Electromatic. Looks cool for around £500

Can't be too much help, but it's a cool looking thing! Most likely a Korean made bass made for a number of brands. A quick Google image search brought up Wood doing a bass very similar. Googling Mazeti brings up a whole bunch of those 5 and 6 string basses that brands like Shine etc do. By no means a bad thing to come from one of those types of factories! Enjoy.

In my teenage days playing at a Student Union where I'd just got a fancy wireless kit. Got carried away and decided to jump off the stage. Wireless receiver drops out of bass, hits the floor and battery goes flying....

Not sure about the tuners, by the decal is very straightforward. Sand off, tidy up, apply new decal, varnish/clear coat over. Done.

It's almost impressive how much they can increase the prices between the US and other markets now. 48% difference in retail prices between the US and the UK. Right enough.

If it ends up looking anything like your Thunder-me-wotsit Mustang thing - this will look ace! Like you, I'm bad at fretless. Then you listen to Pino or a bit of Pearl Jam and think I NEED one. Think I've had 4 or 5 fretless basses, none of which have lasted after gathering dust 😅
