  1. Day 3 of Hermes Two Day Delivery.

    Sigh.

I had two deliveries from them yesterday from different drivers...maybe one of them should have been yours.

If you read their T&Cs carefully, you find the delivery time is merely an expression of your preference. Seriously.

I've got an expression for that.

  2. For those with something in mind, BassDirect are running 6 months 0% interest on all basses and amps...Welp.

oooh, might have wished I hadn't read this, had my eye on a few bits on their site

Worth noting that it's only for NEW products

  3. Was just subject to my first attempted Gumtree scam.

    Always fun.

really come on then spill the beans, warn the rest of us of the dangers out there.

Ah, sorry to hear that. Hope everything works out OK for you :(

  4. Picked up a Sire a few week ago and wasn't quite working.....Slapped a set of Chromes on, now we're talking!

    1. Marvin

      Marvin

Good combination. I had Chromes on my Sire for the last few years and only recently put some rounds back on (for a different project). The Chromes sound well balanced on the Sire

      That's nearly a rhyme...

Reminds me of that reworked Elvis song.

  5. While my other half watched Love Island, I rocked out to some Audioslave for an hour.

I think we all know who had a better evening! 😂

In a previous rock covers band we did 'Cochise' and it was a highlight of the set. Spine-chilling line to play, IF the rest of the band are up to it which in this case they were. I miss that band, but not the bum-shattering volume we played at. ;)

    2. lowregisterhead

      lowregisterhead

What a great description! I've played loud, but never to the point of shattering my bum. Not that I was aware of, anyway. I was also in a band some years ago that had Cochise in their set. Girl singer, and she could do it, too.

  6. Red Hot Chili Peppers with Anderson Paak and Thundercat next year. YES!

    1. Jakester

      Jakester

Have you seen the prices though!?!? Cheapest ticket I could find was £242....

      BassApprentice

I paid slightly less than that on the O2 presale but not a cheap day out. As long as the set list is good the I'll be happy 😊

  7. Looking for an amp repair service in Liverpool if anyone has any recommendations!

I think GEE electronics are in Warrington but not far from Liverpool at all. I really need to get my Trace heads to them.

  8. Quick question - can you use a Zoom B3/B3n as a recording interface via usb?

      LukeFRC

      @BassApprentice -
As an audio interface:  B3 yes. B3n no.

  9. Think I've found the pickup config I like most. Either P or J but with a big ol Humbucker at the bridge. Just works for me

      mcnach

Yup, a big bridge humbucker is where it's at. Paired with a P, for me.

  10. Have to say, that Kala U Bass Journeyman looks mighty tempting for a living room noodler.....

    1. Burns-bass

      Burns-bass

      Don't do it.

I had one at it just ended up being an attractive case warmer.

I have to admit I rarely use my own U-bass, but the Journeyman has knocked the bottom out of the used market so it won't be going anywhere!

  11. If anyone knows of any Tickets for Tedeschi Trucks Band for the Glasgow gig going, let me know!

    1. geoham

      geoham

      I'm also on the hunt!
After years of hoping they'd finally visit Glasgow, I decided against buying tickets when they announced it last year - I feared it'd get pushed back forever like countless other gigs were.

  12. Oooft, a very nice Bolt On Thumb for sale on Facebook if that's your thing

Looks like a cracker for a 90s 5er, full of woods they can't use anymore - ovangkol body etc. Won't hang around at 795 asking. Lucky foe me I'm not buying basses anymore :)

  13. It's nice when something like a simple string change totally revitalises your bass!

    1. CameronJ

      CameronJ

Truth. I think back to years gone by when I was inexperienced in terms of bass setup and string choice. I would sell basses because they didn’t feel right…in hindsight a string change could have completely fixed things!

  14.  Seeing that the only guitar shop in my hometown is closing down. Sad to see the shop where I got my very first bass go...

    1. Woodinblack

      Woodinblack

I was happy to see the shop I got my second bass go, they really deserved it!

  15. Was out for a cycle in the sunshine and there was a band jamming out in the park. The first live music I've seen in over a year, was a properly happy moment!

    1. Kevsy71

      Kevsy71

Cycling and live music - or 'bike and bass' - my two loves! Fantastic :)

  16. If you have a budget of £1000 there's an absolutely ridiculous selection of basses for sale just now.

    Shame I don't have £1000 🥲

    1. yorks5stringer

      yorks5stringer

Or you could even go for one at just £100......!

  17. Been in my new place for almost 2 months. FINALLY got my desk practice set up sorted, Phil Jones Bass Buddy just tucked away under the monitor. Nice.

    1. SpondonBassed

      SpondonBassed

It's nice to get settled in.

  18. Newly Discovered Band Of The Day - The Main Squeeze.  Fuzzy, funky goodness 🤙

  19. Tomorrow is finally NBD! Been about 2 months since I actually bought the bass 😅

  20. Just popped my Squier Musicmaster (my first ever bass) into a local guitar tech for some TLC. Not been taking very good care of it so hopefully he can work some magic!

  21. Seems to be a lot of NBD posts this weekend, makes me feel left out 😂

  22. I primarily practice through headphones and just recorded myself for the first time in a long time.....Yikes.

Very sloppy - need to tighten the technique up!

  23. As someone who is currently not playing much and has all basses covered (4, 5 and Fretless) I seem to have bought another bass....NBD later today 😅

  24. I see GuitarGuitar Glasgow have some Sandberg 48s in.....

Think I'll happen to be passing by in the near future.

  25. Waking up excited to go see RHCP, Anderson Paak and Thundercat.l tonight.....only to see a text on your phone saying it's been cancelled 🥲
