1. Worst Beatles cover- anything that Liam Gallagher has been involved with
2. cant seem to get it to play - so far it's only let me listen to god is dead? any ideas gents?
3. I've been using 2 410s for years. Never had an issue with complaints. Sounds good, looks awesome and feels great to stand in front of!
4. Great player, interesting person.
5. Shocked no one has mentioned nib by sabbath
6. I used mine in anger for the second time ( and second band!) last night. It sits beautifully in the mix and compliments the b3k wonderfully. The only issue I have is that I did find a couple of settings where I lost a little low end. The era knob I find is very versatile, and distinguishable throughout its movement in the mix. Another success story from Douglas! And Spencer of course!
7. I have just returned from spending some time ( an hour +) with the vmt and mxr side to side. My first impression of the mxr has been confirmed. It's dark but this wouldn't cause a problem if the clean sound was 'clean' rather than with an applied eq. The vmt was a clear winner, and I ended up walking out of the shop with the darkglass to add to my b3k. I think I have most of my drive needs covered now. The era knob makes the vmt one of the single most useful drive pedals I have played ime. Time will tell how it fairs in context though
8. If you want to go the vintage route, keep an eye open for a tony butler p. it's an awesome bass for the money (299ish new), so a second hand one should fall close to your budget. There are some wonderful jap basses from the 80's available within your budget that sound gorgeous. Anything from matsumoku is normally worth a punt. I've had some really great results using Westfield basses and upgrading the pick up. My favourite one cost me a total of less than £100 and gets compliments whenever I use it
9. Hardwire cm2 tube drive and ts9b are the obvious two, but I have had some reasonable sounds from the mxr m80, the bod 50 by chord, the phat phuk and a few others I don't recall at the mo
10. Thanks for your words Damon. Don't underestimate your own contribution I do have a couple of spaces free at the moment, but be quick- they are going fast!
11. http://bit.ly/119SiA6 Read the title and then how many available.......
12. I'm well into double figures bass wise. I have specific instruments for specific bands. I always carry at least two instruments too - one to play and one as spare/ drop tunings Playing for a living I find things can sometimes get a little 'stale' , so when it does I pick up another instrument and I'm off again! I'm a bass addict- I love the look, feel and sounds of different instruments too. No two sound exactly the same, and this is why I will always be looking for the next 'thunderchild'
13. The lass on the left was in the phantom menace Awesome film though- I must watch it again!
14.
Marshall
Absolutely!
15. Filters are much like drives, in that everyone looks for differing things. I've tried lots and ended with the mxr. A good one to start your quest after the bassballs could be the q tron, or perhaps a dod fx 25 or clone. It's a long old journey- good luck!
16. It's ok, but I found a little dark with the 'adjusted' clean sound. Still might pick one up since it could provide a useful contras to the b3k
17. I'm currently balancing 4. One of these is pretty ad hoc and the others balance themselves. Whoever gets to the diary first wins. I also get calls for deps here and there. All part of the job as far as I'm concerned.
18. Chorus a dash of reverb and octave generally, although I have tried playing with some drives and filters for fun
19. Much as ste has said- I put mine last in chain before my bass xciter and di to pa. I don't use it when using backline.
