  1. Hey guys. Anyone had a play on one yet? Looks gorgeous with the silver burst finish. I shall be having a play at the earliest opportunity since they seem to be shipping now. http://www.andertons.co.uk/electric-basses/pid30278/cid682/squier-troy-sanders-jaguar-bass.asp

  3. We have done beat it before. Goes down a storm. We've also thrown the time warp and the xentrix version of ghostbusters for hallowe'en shows. They're always fun to play, which normally means the punter has fun too
  4. Still have my nady encore system as my back up to my x2. Still works brilliantly.
  5. He runs three rigs at a time sand switches tem in and out as necessary. One clean, one slightly dirty and one filthy. The home made distortion is apparently made from wah parts.
  6. Our set used to run Set 1 Breaking the law Cochise Highway to hell Lights Out Wrathschild NIB Crazy Train Children of the Grave Run to the hills Don't talk to strangers Ace of Spades Living on a prayer Set 2 War pigs Immigrant song Heaven n Hell Number of the beast Armed and ready Livin the life Trooper Livin after midnight Strangers in the night Rock n roll Long live Rock and Roll Burn Paranoid Crazy train. It has changed a little since this (about 18 months ago!) We also have a female singer since we couldn't find a chap that could a- handle the vocals at the required pitch and b- wasn't an arrogant expletive!!
  7. I was also bidding on that one for a student of mine, as it was only a little way down the road. I missed the end of it though. I hope you enjoy it mate. Those Westfields can be fantastic value for money. Enjoy
  8. I enjoyed the guy actually playing the bass part there. Oddments of the soloing I thought worked- however most did not. Billy sounded like the musical equivalent of a bag of pork scratching at a bar mitzvah in this case. It's no wonder that some see bass players as failed / frustrated guitarists
  9. I have had plenty of dealings with strings and things over the years, particularly when they were the distributors for mxr. Every issue I had was sorted promptly and efficiently. I would go so far as to say that nothing was too much trouble to solve any issue I had with their products.
  10. Hartke lh500. Tons of balls and plenty of volume.
  11. Ben. That is gorgeous. If I had the scratch........
  12. It's not like its a lightweight head. How can you lose a head that weighs the same as a small car!
  13. The Hartke hydrive lh500 is well worth a look. Frank bello from anthrax and save ellefson from megadeth are both using the uprated 1000w model, but the sound is not different enough in the 500w model to make any significant difference in the situation you refer to. Second hand around £200. Cab bargains are always to be found either here or eBay.
  14. That's appalling. I hope you get it sorted ASAP.
  15. Fender modern player jaguar. Love mine. Easy to play, light and sounds huge!
  16. I haven't used nimh batteries for years, despite having some around as spares
  17. I've been using li ion batteries in my wirelesses for about 7 years. I get two or three full sets from one battery before recharging and they charge, when required in less than an hour. In active basses I stick with a decent 9v disposable battery (normally Duracell or energizer) When I do buy li ion batteries I get them from eBay via china with no issues. They cost me around £15 for two 500 (ish) mah along with a charger and adaptor
  18. I've been using my fecker p bass to record recently. The engineer could not believe the amount of low low end that was coming in. It's basically a cheapy body with an spb3 quarter pounder pup. Perhaps that's the answer if you're still not getting the sound you're after. Please try tweaking the pup and stuff first though.
  19. Apparently effectspowersupplies have them http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/tech-21-vt-bass-di-3989-p.asp
  20. my go to chorus is the mxr black label chorus / analog chorus (both the same pedal but different paint jobs!) and i have just got hold of the mooer ensemble king - very nice and only £59 retail! Ive been using velcro for mine, but friends have used the bicycle chain method to great effect (!)
