  1. What kind of music do you play mate? The blowtorch applies the fuzz/ drive to a specific mid range frequency. Perhaps the ashdown lomenzo hyperdrive might fit the bill- it also applies the effect to a specific chosen frequency
  2. The mooer pedals are well worth a look. There are some real gems in their range and priced £45- £69
  3. I understand the points made, but I suspect the point about quality of mike is key. Once I point out that my mike is not a £10 maplin karaoke mike they do pipe down. I use a pretty expensive sennheiser that is one of the few mikes that leave my foghorn voice sounding reasonable
  4. You'd be surprised how many sound engineers get funny when you ask to use your own mike!
  5. Don't forget the context- in this, vai is the devils representative in a guitar battle for the mans soul. Completely believable, and worthy of serious musical critique
  6. Iirc pino used an oc2 on the paul young stuff. Doesn't do octave up though There aren't many that are capable of both octave up and down- pearl octave, pog and derivatives, octron. Can't think of any more ATM
  7. Love my mp jag. The main difference between the squier and fender models afaict is that the neck is glossed, and the pups are fender models rather than the Duncan designed ones on the squier To me it doesn't matter where it's made- as long as its a good instrument. If its good it gets gigged!
  8. Ime it's the closest production pedal to an oc2 that there is
  9. Full tone bass drive- widely rated Sparkle drive Bad monkey- sounds good, but most prefer the modded version Hardwire tube od- lovely pedal, criminally underrated
  10. I'd calculate it according to the cost of work missed or potentially lost
  11. You need to get x pedal. (Comp, drive or whichever)
  12. I have to agree with fnm. I don't think spencer (with 3leaf) will see any of my cash
  13. If it is priced around £250, that seems fair considering the name they have built for quality tools, and what is essentially a two-in-one solution
  14. I got some direct from fender about 15 years ago. They said they had nearly run out then. Allparts are the uk fender spares people now. Perhaps a call/ email to them might be in order
  15. Ill say it again. Sharay exudes musicality. TO ME- much more preferable to victor. Listening to victor makes me appreciate sharay so much more
  16. Shame. I would have had it from you, but I've got a lot of things in the offing ATM.
  17. ^ Soo true. He just exudes musicality, rather than the (to me anyway) soulless playing of wooten
  18. I tried the east river drive on Monday along with a couple of other pedals. The east river dropped loads of low end, but had a quite pleasant character, so blending would probably work quite well. I ended up buying the hot tubes nano. Lovely valvey fuzzy grit. Covers ground that my vmt and b3k can't. It has a switch to bypass the tone stack. It brought the pedal to life for me. For the princely sum o £49- a real winner! The bass wah looks very interesting. Id love to give that a whirl!
  19. Aaah sharay reed. He is most definitely the man! There are churches with players like this around, particularly in London.
  20. I have a friendly amp tech I use in gravesend- about 15-20 mins from the m25. If you pm me, I'll send you his number
  21. Richard at effectspowersupplies.com has one on the wall in the shop. I played it on Monday.
