1. No soldering at all. Spade connectors ftw! It took a grand total of 2 mins to install the new switch, and everything powers up perfectly, with none of the previous issues
2. That's right. Marshall no longer supply parts to the public. I would have to use one of their recommended repairers. Cue bill of £30-£40+ for something I can easily do my self!!!
3. After speaking to my local electrical supplier, I looked on the rs website. I entered what looked like a part number, I found the part I was looking for. £1.39 with free next day delivery plus vat if ordered online 😀 For future reference the rs number is 2284581
4. Cheers mate. It's 20.5 mm wide and 14 mm high
5. I'm having a problem with the power switch on my Marshall DBS 7400 head. There seems to be an issue getting the switch to work consistently. Marshall have now informed me that they can not supply me with the parts for health and safety reasons. Can anyone help me source a replacement? The switch looks like this The side of the switch has markings which include 250v~ac t100 10 (6)a 250vac 12a Cheers guys
6.
my latest board layout. Particularly enjoying the mike stand
7. Love this one too http://youtu.be/zcu7BVG7JE4
8. This choice one from sabbath has to be a contender http://youtu.be/UbTR1-d2IDg
9. It might not be highbrow enough for some, but I love the chord movement in the intro to God gave rock and roll to you II by kiss
10. And megadeth- peace sells are both the ones that immediately sprang to mind http://youtu.be/aiQpRQeIiHY
11. Control denied- what if http://youtu.be/MP29i-XDjmA
12. Nice to see jimmy page keeping himself busy
13. I tried the bad when it came out. I heard a high pitched noise on the signal when engaged. It might have been a teething problem, but it was a deal breaker for me. I've been using the mxr black label chorus since it was released. That and the analog chorus are the same pedal, but with different paint jobs Unless I hear something extremely special, I won't be changing it out anytime soon
14. Boss ce5 and ceb3 Mxr black label/ analog chorus ( both the same pedal and allegedly a ce5 clone) Dod stereo bass chorus
15. I occasional have students that want to do rockschool. I'll help if I can
16. Sounds really interesting. Any chance of some more clips once you have it?
17. I can assure you this is he exception rather than the rule. I've gigged in Hastings for close to ten years now. I always enjoy the good natured audiences, and awesome 'seaside vibe' This is clearly just down to a w***er of a landlord who wants to impose his opinion on people trying to earn recognition and a crust.
18. Oasis Blur Early Rush- nothing wrong with them I just can't get over the squeaky vocal. Much improved now
19. Butler and ward Jones and bonham Flea and smith
20. The dano transparent overdrive is a great pedal for bass. I'd also second the mentions of bass soul food, cm2, and glove ( running at 18v internally) I own all of these, and they all get a huge amount of use
21. Iirc, the thunderball is a clone of the ehx bass blogger. I wasn't hugely keen when I tried it. Have you thought about the ehx nano bass big muff? Similar sort of price and based around the Russian muff. Never tried the 3rat. Certain Rats do have a reputation for dropping low end. Might be worth trying them if you can first.
22. I've been doing iem only gigs for years. The mxr m80/81 is great, transparent, and the eq can be incredibly useful. The hartke bass attack is good, and works really well. It has the classic hartke sound on tap, and has an effects loop too. Behringer make a clone of the sansamp bddi, it's pretty good as long as you can get on with the ampeg tone. Edens wtdi is great but the gain is VERY sensitive. I own all of these and have used them all in anger. My first choice is always my mxr m80. Very versatile, and has a separate drive channel, which can sound awesome with judicious use of the blend control
