1. I can get a very similar sound to that using my Agent 00Funk and Brown Dog gated fuzz pedal.
2. Just received an EBS UniChorus from Russ - exactly as described and a thoroughly hassle free transaction.
3. Just received SFX Micro Fuzz from Chris - swift delivery - item exactly as described - buy with confidence!
4. The latest incarnation of my pedal board: Just waiting on delivery of Phat Phuk B and SFX Micro Fuzz, will be adding EBS Chorus soon as well, then am likely to part company with Brown Dog and possibly 00Funk.

Blues?

I started playing along to SRV & Double Trouble - Tommy Shannon on bass duties IIRC - can sometimes get a bit disheartening when he starts walking all over the place but stick at it and it'll all fall into place. Also, I thought Gary Moore's Still Got The Blues album was good to play along with, nothing too tricky there!
6. Bit of an eclectic mix, but here goes: Be My Friend - Free Strange and Beautiful - Aqualung Sister Luck - The Black Crowes Black & Blue - Counting Crows Darkest Dreaming - David Sylvian Just the way I'm Feeling/Forget about Tomorrow - Feeder She - Elvis Costello Your Protector - Fleet Foxes Virginia Moon - Foo Fighters Only Lonely - Hootie and the Blowfish Oh My Love - John Lennon/Jackson Browne The Only Exception - Paramore Country - Paul Weller Tin Pan Alley - SRV I'll probably get lynched for this one - How Can You Mend A Broken Heart (I prefer the Bee Gees version to Al Green's), there I've said it!
7. I have that film somewhere - that scene always make me chuckle!
8. For me I found the GB Shuttle 9.0 and a 2 x 12 got lost in my band so I tried the MarkBass gear and have never looked back. Prior to my back failing I had 2 4x10 TE Cabs and a TE AH500 Head - sounded truly phenomenal IMHO but was sooooooooooooo heavy particularly at the end of a good night! The MB gear is seriously lightweight in only one aspect.
9.
Opposite again, I find chord chart extremely helpful and time saving, only when I see a chart I also see every single note I can play except the notes on the chart.
It certainly is a "funny old game" - I've never really had any formal musical knowledge/understanding, but I have a great "ear for music" ! I've always played Bass by ear and have always been able to "feel" my way through a song, when I occasionally go to a jam session with a guitarist mate of mine he always makes a point of saying how I "connected" better with the other musos there. I never play with charts/tab/notation whilst gigging - but 3 of my bandmates do? - neither the singer or myself have any physical notes to refer to - perhaps it's ignorance on my part? the songs are in my head - but when asked to shift a song "up one fret" makes no odds to me but the others with their notation couldn't cope/seriously struggle?
10.
Strewth!!! That is some gig!!! I think I could just about manage 2 - 3 hrs but our drummer and guitarist's bladders will only hold out for about 15 numbers!!!!!! I have read my way through these lists and the great thing about them is, it shows that kind of stuff you play/are keen on, which in turn gives us all a better understanding and what sort of player you are. I'll dig out our list. Cheers.
I must admit it was a bitterly cold night as I recall but the atmosphere and response from the punters from the outset was great - really spurred us on - I was grateful when American Pie was called as gave most of the band a chance for a "comfort break". , I tend to drink 3 pints of water per gig so tend to slosh a bit towards the end! Oh and I forgot to mention we also do Does Your Mother Know (Abba) and of course Mustang Sally!

Fuzz!

I do like a bit of Fuzz and find the W&C Pickle Pie B the best IMO - it is a bit on the raucous edge though so needs a bit of fine tuning/playing with - I do like the blend on it. The Fender Sublime I like too - has the big rotary control on top so can adjust the level of Fuzz whilst playing - comes in handy as a volume boost sometimes and gets really dirty when wound right up to max. Have a Brown Dog too - thinking I may move this on though.
12. In no particular order, we wouldn't play all of these in one night! 14. Disco 2000 / Sittin' on the dock of the bay - learned for a Wedding Party gig as requested by the bride/groom respectively.
15. OBBM - recent convert and have to say quality, service and price are all exceptional.
16. Stuck in the Middle - "Well I don't know why I came here tonight" - have played this in 3 out of the last 5 bands I've played with (each time through gritted teeth).
17. Just to chuck my two penneth in, I played my first gig last night using the Micro Thumpinator recently purchased from a BC'er, the difference to my sound was immediate - much tighter bottom end and definitely worth every penny. Incidentally, I tend to run mine at the very front of my signal path - which I agree does seem illogical to me but it definitely works.
