1. May be interested in the blender - how much is expensive?
2. Cheers for the response regarding the effects loop, so I'm currently running the following "chain":- Fender Sub Lime Fuzz - Dunlop Bass Wah - Rat Distortion pedal - MXR M288 Octave pedal - MXR M169 Carbon Copy delay pedal - Amp, I've not encountered any problems with putting the effects straight into the front of the amp (as yet) - just need some fine tuning with regards levels as sometimes it seems the RAT can get a bit lost in the mix? Do you think there's any benefit in using the effects loop - would it help with the RAT problem maybe? Holy cow, I had no idea effects were such a minefield - I was reading the show us your board thread last night, some serious stuff going on there, and I think I liked the sound of the blender you referred to, may have to investigate that further. Are there any "stock" blenders you've used/would recommend?
3. I had a bad experience a few years ago when I was using my amp's effects loop, the long & short of it was the power supply for the effects went squiffy mid performance, the sound quickly degraded into mush and I had a blind panic - not much fun in front of a rammed pub audience, I pulled out the leads in the effects loop and normal service was resumed. Anyway, I seem to have put that behind me now and had been gassing to give it a try again. I've been using a Fender Sub Lime fuzz pedal for some time now with no problems and have recently added a few things to my arsenal (well I've got to give the lead guitarist a run for his money), so up to now I've been using the fuzz pedal straight into the front of my amp - not using the effects loop - and that brings me to my point - what are the benefits of using the effects loop rather than plugging the lead from the output of the last pedal into the front of my amp? I know I should know better (at my age) and am sure someone here will enlighten me!? Also, what's with most other peeps using things like a "looper", forgive my ignorance but I'd like to know if I may be missing something. Thanks in anticipation! Pete.
4. Received my new cables from OBBM on Friday - had a request to dep on Friday so went straight to work! Can happily concur with regards great service, superb quality goods at a very reasonable price. Thanks for all the recommendations guys and especially a big thanks to Dave.
5. Long shot - don't suppose this is still available? Am in Wiltshire and would like to downsize also!
6. Cheers for all the replies, looks like I'll be pm'ing OBBM!
7. Hi Guys, I need to purchase a couple of new guitar leads and was wondering if there's anything out there I may be missing...I prefer to use right angle to right angle leads but can't seem to find anything of any decent quality? I've used Warwick cables in the past but the last couple I bought have only lasted about 18 months and have now started popping & causing a lot of extraneous noise. I had also used Planet Waves previously but seems they've stopped making what I want, so thought I'd ask if anyone has any other recommendations. Failing that I guess it'll be a trip to my local shop and ask them to make a couple up for me. Cheers.
8. Cheers guys, jobs now done and am really enjoying playing this now
9. Hi All, hoping you can help me please? Just picked up a Roadworn Jazz and am really pleased with it, although having given the bass a good look over, feel it would benefit from a set up. I mentioned it to the retailer who didn't seem particularly interested!? Before setting to it I thought I'd ask the question as I've never had the need to tweak an early neck (with the adjustment at the body end of the bass). Looking at it I reckon I need to remove the scratchplate and adjust with a flat screwdriver (although the clearance to the body looks really tight) - my question is do I need any specialist tooling and are there any pitfalls to watch out for? I'm reasonably competent and usually set up all of my basses myself but thought it better to ask first! Thanks in anticipation - have checked wiki btw and searched the forum and couldn't find what I was looking for. Cheers, Pete
10. It's currently at the Bass Gallery as a commission based sale
11.
I must be getting old, I want the bass far more than I want the model
12. Hi All, I'm bumping this for the last time as I've decided to leave this on the Forum for one more week then it'll be off to the Gallery for a commission based sale, having spoken to Alex he reckons he can acheive £950 (which less their commission leaves me a nice fund towards a Roadworn Jazz) - If anyone has a nice USA Jazz in black with Rosewood fingerboard and would like to trade please PM me. As you can see from the price (which is VERY keenly priced) this Marcus Miller represents an absolute bargain. That is All
13. Sunny Saturday Morning bump!
14. Thanks for the kind words guys - it really is a steal regarding price - which I won't be reducing. I'm really in no hurry to offload this - whilst it's no longer for me, it's still easy on the eye! I've been out at a guitar shop today and tried out a Roadworn Jazz - absolutely lovely to play, great action and a lovely rich warm tone to boot, so I reckon I'll stash some dough and get one of those, if this sells then it should all happen a bit quicker - unless someone out there fancies a trade?
15. Lots of interest but nothing yet agreed, still available type bump.
16. All pm's replied to - check those mailboxes!
17. Sunday Lunchtime bump
18. As it's such a lovely day I thought I'd take some more pics to see if I can whet your appetite some more Whilst giving this a clean today I had a really good look for any marks/abrasions etc and there are none whatsoever - not even a hint of any buckle rash - it really is in excellent condition! As I mentioned at the top of this thread the only marks evident are some fingernail swirls on the pickguard - an easy fix if you thought it really mattered - I've tried to photograph these but think I got more fluffy clouds than anything else! Anyway here's the pics - enjoy! The spotty slippers are my daughter's by the way - not mine! I would consider trades for another Fender Jazz preferably or possibly another Precision, I'm definitely a Fender Man and just love the snarl of a good Jazz Bass.
19. Bumpalicious - may put some better pics up over the weekend
20. Evening All! Bump
