1. It's getting there - I take that as high praise indeed coming from the board guru - may have to pick your brains soon.
2. I was wondering how you got on....only just spotted this thread! Looks cool to me!
3. Cheers Rich - the pedal is excellent - I've been missing the ability to blend but it really does make a great difference.
4. I had one of those for my first bass! And loved it. Served me well in my first 2 years of gigging - sold it for £100 IIRC. The knobs look like the original ones to me - I always thought they reminded me of Gibson Black Speed type knobs:
5. The latest version of my board - still to change once I get my head round using the LS-2 and X-Blender together! And am hoping a B3K will be heading this way in the not too distant future...
6. I reckon a RAT distortion pedal will get you pretty close to the desired effect.
7. Back to the top! Trade options edited, price dropped and thread cleaned and tidied! Open to offers type bump!
8. Hi Alan, it's a shame this didn't work for you, here's hoping you get what you're after. I can testify this really is a nice bass to play and is in very good gigged condition, sounds great IMO and Alan's a really nice guy to do business with! Buy with total confidence folks! Have a Bump on me!
9. Just bought a custom Al Heeley Chorus pedal from Al - really nice quality, great sounding chorus pedal, arrived very safely packaged the following day! Great stuff from a really nice guy!
10.
pedalboard 2012 :
What's with the stopwatch top left? Are you timing your gigs?
11. Well I took the plunge and ezbass and I worked out a deal (helps both of us with GAS) so I'm now the proud owner of a nice Black Ray34 with a Black Pearloid scratchplate (collected earlier today), I have to say, my initial reaction is it's much better than the SR5 I had previously, I think this will be gigged more often than the 5 was - well pleased at the moment - the proof will be on Saturday night when I take it to next gig! Thanks for all the input guys.
12. Just bought an X-Blender from Rich, great guy to deal with, perfect transaction, arrived quickly, well packaged - completely hassle free! Oh and a great sense of humour too! Cheers Rich, your're a gent!

EZbass Feedback

Just bought a Ray34 from Chris, the bass is in really nice condition, thank you! Equally impressive was Chris's (now legendary) hospitality - the Espresso was particularly welcome after a long drive and very good to boot! An absolute Gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. Pete
Here's the finished unit with bicolour LED's lighting the base plate - red or yellow depending on the voice depth setting switch. Red LED's int he skull eye sockets pulse according to the rate set. Sounds pretty good too
That is seriously cool - you should be well pleased! Are you taking orders yet?
16. Thanks for your help guys - I reckon a trip to a guitar shop is in order! Would definitely like to try before committing to buy. Forgive my ignorance, do they come in different pup arrangements like "real Stingrays"? Off to ask Google...
17.
The weak G string on all Rays seems to a bone of contention, but nothing a little adjustment of action or pickup height doesn't cure in my experience. Weight is another issue altogether though, all of the Rays I've owned have been heavier than anything else I've had, but on the upside this makes them really well balanced.
I really quite fancy a Ray 4 and I'm sure if I could set it up properly then I'd learn to love it! Does anyone have the weight of a Sterling Ray? Any other comments good or bad? Cheers for the responses so far - helpful
18. Sold Alan my Spector 5 string, deal agreed on Friday evening, bass picked up and paid for on Saturday evening! A very easy transaction and a great guy to deal with - thanks!
19. Hmm, that's a bit disappointing to hear - read some reviews over on talkbass (ducks for cover) and pretty much everyone rated them?
20.
Don't play most of the songs mentioned anyway...but then again, I never ever know the lyrics to a song, just as I wouldn't ever listen to the lyrics on the radio. Lyrics are the last thing I'd connect with... so I couldn't rule out songs on that basis
Yeah, I can relate to that - used to know the first line to loads of songs as our guitarist/singer had a habit of forgetting them/mental block - so I used to walk over (during the extended intro) and shout in his ear!
21. Hi All, Just tentatively enquiring what people's thoughts are on these? Had a 'Ray 5 previously which despite looking pretty, I didn't particularly get on with at all, I had always wanted to try one but when the opportunity arose we just didn't click? So having sold it around a 18 months ago, I'm getting a touch of GAS for a 4 string Ray of sorts, but didn't want to shell out too much in case I don't like the 4 either. I think the main "problem" with the 5 was the definite difference in volume across the strings - the G string sounded very thin & weedy compared to the colossal E&A strings, the D was slightly weaker sounding but OK on the whole. Also the weight of the 5 was pretty heavy and the thought of gigging with it - ugh! Just thought I'd chuck it out there and see what experience you'd had with them? Cheers in advance, Pete
