1. Still morning bump, had an offer, still considering.
2. I've decided to offer this for sale, I acquired the bass from a fellow basschatter last August but I just haven't fallen in love with it as I expected I would. It's the first Jazz I've had with a Maple neck and believe that this is the reason, I just cannot get the same warmth/tone as my main gig bass (standard USA Jazz with RW neck). This plays like an absolute dream, I have started a number of gigs with it but always seem to end up playing my Standard!!? It has a really nice low action, and plays great. It's strung with DR Marcus Miller Low beam strings. It's in very good condition - has some light fingernail swirls on the scratchplate but otherwise unmarked. Any questions, I'll do my best to answer as quickly as possible - work permitting! Thanks for looking, Pete Looking for £650 OVNO.
3. Hi All, Ideally looking to trade my Marcus Miller Signature Jazz Bass for another Jazz but must have Rosewood Neck - I just prefer the warmth of Rosewood over Maple. I acquired this from another Basschat member in August last year - I've given the Maple a good go but just cannot get the warmth of tone I am so fond of. This bass is in very good condition, there are some light fingernail scratches on the scratchplate but that is all. Here's a couple of pics to whet your whistle: I'm located in Wiltshire, work in Bristol, could travel within reasonable distance. If anyone is after more detailed pics please let me know. Cheers, Pete.
4.
Bump.
Kev I'm confused? I don't understand why you're bumping this thread when I thought we'd agreed a deal? You e-mailed me last night at 23.13 saying you'd love my Stingray! Forgive me if I've got the wrong end of the stick?
5.
Lots of interest, but no definite offers. Bump.
pm'd
6. Hup for a sunny day
7. All pm's replied too - thanks
8. Evening All! Throwing out a feeler as I've got GAS for another Fender Jazz. I purchased this beauty from OutToPlayJazz back in January this year, it's still in the same fantastic condition - absolutely unmarked, those of you who know me will know I'm a fussy bugger and if I'm being anal I suppose the only thing I'd mention is that the scratchplate shows evidence of fingernail scatch marks under the G string (OOer!). They are very light though! Anyway, as I said, only a feeler at the moment, I really am quite fond of it's BIG sound & not in any rush to part company just yet (depending on interest). Comes complete with Ernie Ball Original Hardshell Case and cleaning cloth & also a spare DR Fatbeam B string. I'm not looking to rip anyone off so am looking for £800. I may consider trades (possibly with cash adjustment either way?) So, without further delay, here's some pics to whet your appetite...
9. How about Leland Sklar - session musician to a whole host of talent! Just learning some of his lines - wonderfully melodic yet busy too.
10. Almost Humpday! Bump! Will include delivery to mainland UK for £400, go on, you know you want it.
11. Monday Morning Bump
12. Basses by Fender, Sofa by Ikea and some more
13. Hi John, Thanks for a lovely cuppa! Just the job - and a good chin wag too. Just got home from picking up a Spector 5 from John - what a gentleman - made me very welcome and the bass is very nice too.
14. Morning Tom, Did this do exactly as it said on the tin? Just wondering why you're selling it? Cheers, Pete
15. Hup for the weekend!
16.
Standard Spector Legend 5 string in very good nick. Selling as I'm buying some bits for my EUB and need some dosh. I like the sound of these basses, bridge pup is nice and grunty, and neck has nice crisp punch. This is a slappers delight IMHO. Neck is straight, and I've found a guy who has done a great set up, so has nice low action and new strings and he fitted a new jack socket as the old one was dying. Comes with strap locks and leather strap. No gig bag I'm afraid, but it would be packaged nice and safe'n'cozy for posting. Also happy to deliver or meet within 25 miles of North Dorset, or come and collect. John
Pm'd
17. Hup!
18.
More owners than The Littlest Hobo!! GREAT cab.... have a bump on me Pete!
I know I love the sound of it too, just at the end of a night it is a tad heavy! Should've stuck with my original plan and bought the 151P to start with! If it doesn't sell then I'll probably just hang on to it & get the guitarist to carry it out at the end of the night , he's only been stood there posing whilst the rythm section have been doing all the hard work all night! Cheers Jamie!
19. Hi, I recently aquired this from another basschatter and have realised it's just a bit too big/heavy for my poor old knackered back, so ideally I'm looking to trade for a Markbass 151P Traveler 8 ohm cab. Otherwise for outright purchase I'm looking for £400 (includes a padded vinyl cover). The cheapest I can find on the web is £665.00 (with no cover included), so I think my asking price is fair. The cab is in perfect A1 condition & sounds fantastic with 102P I also have. I have removed the Markbass badge on the front of the cab (but still have it if anyone wants it). Am based in Wiltshire and happy to meet 1/2 way (within reason). All the best, Pete
20. Parcel to go - type it into doogle and hey presto - really helpful people, I just sent a microphone and some other bits to Ireland.
21.
Prices are high, stock is low and rarely refreshes (one shop has been trying to sell a Gibson Thunderbird since I started seriously playing bass, it seems)
I can relate to that! The shop that's most local to me has been trying to sell a Washburn semi-acoustic bass for the last 15 years or so - lovely bass it is too but the problem seems that even if you ask for a deal they don't seem willing to move an inch?! Surely you'd think they'd have some sort of write down policy in place? If I were to buy it I'd want it restrung since the strings on it are corroded!
22. Guys just be straight and tell them what your upto Yeah right, Mrs Thor had me sussed the other week, she stubbed her toe on the Fender Sub Lime fuzz pedal I had stashed at the bottom of the bed she howled "I thought you were only borrowing that for the weekend", I replied I did & liked it so much I bought it! No trouble apart from being told to move it from under the bed

OutToPlayJazz

Well I've had the Stingray 5 for a couple of days now and boy does it growl! Absolutely mint (A1) condition exactly as descibed by Rich. Thanks for your hospitality - just what I needed after driving all those miles - a nice cuppa, and also letting me loose on those lovely basses of yours. A really nice guy, genuinely talented (busted some cool licks). Many thanks, Pete
