1. Absolutely gorgeous, stunning work!
2. That certainly IS a MLC Mark! You're right you need to look after yourself. All the best with your plans. Does the Sad have VTC? Peter
3. Sad news Stu and I sincerely hope things pick up soon. It's been said already but these are two of the very finest Jazz's out there bar none.
4.
don't forget to mention Basschat.
Why Seriously Bilbo, knock em dead!!
5. Go on Al, you only live but the once Then I might get my sticky mitts on it - hehe
6. Whoever gets this bass will be very impressed with it. It was my 1st Bass Collection and it plays beautifully. Peter
7. Bloomin lovely! Yet again the Sad does the business in a band setting. This is becoming their signature. How'd the P get on Russ?
8. It is indeed a remarkable bass.
9. It strikes me that a P bass tone like the one this bass delivers is fundamentally awesome Fingers crossed.
10. Roland cube's are great but also not cheap. Mine failed a little while back too but was far from new. I'd say look on here for a small 2nd hand amp and don't limit yourself to 30W but to portability. I use a Warwick Blue 60 and it has a bonus of a line in which is a boon for playing along to my Tascam MP3. Headphone socket and line out too which are all used.
11. As of last night I can attest to Alan's Sandy being extremely sweet indeedy
12. If you're a Lady AM it won't be sweat will it, I'm sure that having 'glow' on occasionally won't do the strings any harm. If however you qualify instead as a woman then maybe perspiration is the issue, that and the fact that in a few weeks you're probably spending more hours playing than I do in a few months Men and horses sweat
13.
Relic'd means beaten to sh*t if something thinks it will make an instrument worth more Theres a fine line between a good relic job and obliterated. wtf is up with the burning??
There's a not so fine line between a bass being used and getting genuinely 'aged', unique and 'an old friend' and someone deliberately defacing it. One is real and one is entirely fake (and stupid?). All in my opinion of course, it makes no sense to me at all, owning something entirely incongruent and being in the slightest bit pleased with it.
14. Me too, most definitely
15. It is Nik, and a happier bass player am for it methinks. The C64S and CS 4001's came out yesterday too. I forget how nice they sound.
16. Hiya, welcome and congratulations
17. You're welcome Jon. Bit of a way for a gathering I know!
18. That reminds me of an old Naval song called Alladin. It's where I'd still the brush that it has in common
19. Ooh that's one nice looking Jazz there Karl. I'd guess US pickups too for such a 'special' Ltd edition but I don't know how you can tell em apart. Bassassassin?
20. I will Alan It occurred to me that none of 'em are painted i.e. solid colours. Never though of that before.
21. There a Cort Custom Shop in Mad Monks in Kendal - over £1k and very nice indeed.
22. It seems reasonably priced even without the signature? Not that I'd pay that for an old jazz bass.
23. Getting a new song sorted (Losing my religion) and thought I'd have a play in. Not got the Ric's out yet though I realise what a great bunch they are. I haven't played the Darkstarred Warmoth ACG for a while and once I got it dialled in it was a Wow! moment.
24. I suspect that talking of common sense and sound reasoning in relation to the desires of bass purchasers is a folly I have an inexplicable desire to own a jazz bass at the mo. It's undoubtedly a passing BC driven phase and I know that a Sadowsky (Metro or otherwise) would be more likely to be a 'good one' than a standard US or Mexican (i.e. not a Custom Shop) Fender. Hell even modern VM or CV Squiers can sound better - too much of a lottery for the money methinks.
