Coming along nicely, although I really only pop in for the Essex refresh. I lie, this is my Essex (just to show the other side of the County).
wow, you must have tried a hell of a lot of Fender basses LOL.
Or maybe just one Sadowsky

The Dale of the river Kent is indeed where Kendal (Kentdale) is. It confuses many and I sometimes think I should change it but then I think...... nah It's really his band too. I think it's his ego trip as in 'I'm the singer/lead guitarist in a rock band ladies' but I don't think he wants to gig. Ho humm..

I did a deal with Ed a few weeks ago. He came to my place and is a great guy to deal with, have no qualms. Peter

Cheers guys. The band hasn't folded yet but the writing on the wall is coming into focus. I don't want to lose the momentum and I do want to gig. I saw the bands old bassist gigging last Saturday. He'd been painted as a bass god and nice guy though he undoubtedly is his playing was underwhelming to an overwhelming degree. It was a confidence boost for sure. I'll register on the site and place some ads. This thing may resolve itself but I'd rather move on than be left bandless. Peter

Here's some retrieved photos. The picture with the gold knobs is with the ACG02 fitted. It's slowly dawning on me that our lead guitarist can behave like a bit of a knob. The rest of the band are really great and I think, despite being his mates, of similar opinion to myself at times. I was in the pub the other night full of cold and feeling like sh*t, putting up with him shouting out 'there's loads of single totty in here Peter, get in there!' (He was right thought, there was) There's always a struggle with him to keep on with the necessary honing of a set list compared to introducing new songs that he (and only he) likes. Songs I introduce as possibles are not prepared for, ignored or at worse he goes through the motions of just not being able to sing them or remember the lines. There's new songs that he wants to introduce, like some obscure Peter Frampton song that's his particular favourite and he pesters endlessly about. Otherwise his taste in music is very narrow and all pre 1980. We need to be getting our present 15 songs a seamless performance with coordinated intros and endings. I think he gets bored easily and is just in love with the 'I'm in a band' idea. I don't think he's serious about gigging at all. In terms of gigging he's the most resistant to the possibility of embarrassing ourselves, a necessary evil I believe if we're going to go for it and perform. Now the crunch, he comes up with 'I'm a rock climber, if the weather's good I'm rock climbing and you three other guys will have to fit around me and my sport'. I travel nearly 30 miles each way to practice and this sort of arrangement isn't going to work for me. I'm going to start back at the local Jam Night in the hope that there's developments. I've emailed the guys and politely said this won't work. The whole 'band thing' has been a great experience for me and I feel like I've moved on both in terms of ability and confidence, more during the last 6 months or so than I have in the past 12 years. Anyone know of a band that need a bassist within a 30 mile radius of Kendal? Pedro

Just wondered what amp you were using. I have the same rig. It all seems a bit odd.

I'm going to delve into my photo library today and retrieve the pictures. I had a photobucket blitz the other day. I've just got back from my travels and caught this post, as good as my Blackberry is its no PC. What can I say? This bass is beautifully made, sumptuously finished and in mint condition. I moved it on in order to reduce my collection and it was the one most difficult bass to say goodbye to. Everyone knows how good these basses are stock and the ACG02 just adds so much more. It may take a couple of days to explore and take in the new skills required to craft the tone you want but you'd have to be completely bonkers (imo) to put a Tone Pump back in, and Tone Pumps are great for what they do, just a bit 'in yer face' to my way of thinking. If in doubt ask Alan (Niceguyhomer). This ACG02 actually has the passive tone control too. I found it very useful as a one knob instant adjustment between songs. Photos later. This bass is immense, you won't be disappointed if you make the leap. Peter

I would have checked it out online but Blackberries, as good as they are arn't the best tool for it. I was in town sorting my Mum's bank stuff out (it's a mess)and was time pressured to get home to take her to the Drs. So when my request for a help with the price i.e. had I stumbled on a once on a lifetime bargain, and was met with a 'given your gear you don't need it' reply I was annoyed. Maybe it was meant in a lighthearted manner and maybe it wasn't, the 'dreaded' smiley might have helped. Hopefully that's it? Bass seems great and I'm loving the switching options even through the Tascam which is very poor for playing bass through but great for other things. If I've upset anyone by being 'brittle' I apologise. Pedro

Lfalex's bunch. With new addition! Streamline review link added.
GreeneKing replied to Lfalex v1.1's topic in Gear Gallery
Nice bunch, particularly the Streamline. -
Thank you Rich. Looking forward to getting it home and putting it through it's paces. If anyone needs a 5'r then Allegro Music in Colchester have one for £399.

This makes me laugh. BBC impresses us all with his discerning insight that I was 'throwing my toys outta my pram' and annoyed at the tardiness of requested assistance. Maybe, just maybe I made a sarcastic comment in relation to an unhelpful and judgemental reply to my request for a bit of help. Then again maybe bbc knows me best?

Many thanks for the help it's appreciated. Maybe I was a little exasperated and responded heavy handed but noones perfect, not even me! Peter

Thanx Tom for some sanity. Still unsure if it was a good deal or not I tried it again and took the plunge. I'll see how it goes when I get it home. It could be a future bargain on here. The switches make a real differnce to the tone. Can anyone tell me their function? Is it only me then that sees a bass that they've always been interested in at a 'steal' price they can (just) afford and jumps at it needs disregarded? Peter

Now we're all entitled to our opinions. I did clearly ask for urgent advice and can't see where advice on my needs was requested although my post was light hearted as generally is my nature. As for moaning? My sarcastic remark was because having specifically asked for help and saying that I was on my phone the 1st respondant wasn't at all helpful and just passed unsolicited judgement on what I have and therefore my needs. Wtf?

I was after some genuine useful advice on G+L prices. I wasn't after judgement on whether I needed it etc. I'm old enough to make those decisions myself. It's up as a half price clearance offer and it sounds and plays great. I wanted to make sure that they don't all go for this sorta dosh. Thanks for the useful advice. Some of the other stuff seems to go with the territory a little too often nowadays. Peter

Thanx for not a lot of help, hope I can return the favour some day.

Just seen a new G and L tribute for 349 GBP. Is this a mega deal or is it just me? Don't really need though it sounds sweet. Should the price make it unmissable? On my phone so pms good. Peter

I met Nik yesterday over a coffee and sold him my Peavey T-40. I've known Nik for a long time on the forum and its predecesser and always thought that he was a great bloke. Yesterday confirmed that! Peter

This is a case of me being a bit me really. I've had half an ear to the ground for a reasonably priced 4 x 10 as I've never used one and wonder what they would be like compared to the GS112's. Sold my Yamaha BBT500H and BBT210-S to Pete yesterday and became aware he was looking for a matching 4 ohm cab. Didn't clock that he was selling 4 x 10 8 ohm cab So today we met for the 2nd time in 2 days and the cab is mine. Would have been a lot easier and saved petrol, time, miles and £20 notes if we'd have done this yesterday. Initial impressions are that the 4 x 10 compliments the Aguilar very well, as in they're very different. Will update.

Met up with Pete today and did the dodgy motorway service station thing Excellent guy. Peter
