1. The Ric MRRP hasn't been as low as £1k for many years, nearer £1.3.
2. Odd, £329 now reduced from £399 Mine was £185 and I'm chuffed. I don't use it either as it's my back up
3. Sold Chris my Sound City - great guy, recommended. Peter
4.
Surform? Angle Grinder?
On the Coupe presumably not the cab
5. Wow a flame tail. That figuring change is really something Dave.
6. You were already 'pencilled in' Pete. Provisionally Sold then pending the usual.
7. I'm afraid for everyone in the queue it's sold. Hope you don't mind me not sending individual pm's. Thanks for the interest. Another amp and cab bargain here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=44766&hl= Peter
8. Interesting Mark If it was with the matching BBT410 it would have been operating at 4 ohms so still not delivering its full quota of watts. All the matching cabs are 4 ohms and rated at 250 watts, the 4x10, 2x10 and the 1x10 - strange but true.
9. Yes and approx 2/3 of the power will go to the 4 Ohm cab.
10. Following on from putting my Sound City 120 up for sale I've decided to offer my Yamaha BBT500H 500w 2 ohm head and matching 2x10 4 ohm cab. The head has only seen a little home use, is unmarked but comes without a box and with it's manual printed from download as I sold another BBT500H (in more used condition) with those a while back. The cab is brand new and still in it's box, only used to check it works. One price, no offers and no postage, collection or can deliver within reasonable distance. Try before you buy also an option. Again I'm travelling from Kendal to Southampton on Sunday so can deliver. £220 for the rig. You'll need another 4 ohm cab to liberate the full 500 watts. They look just like this (photos can be provided). Peter
11. Ahh but I play so badly no-one would recognise my interpretation of the basslines anyway
12. 2 x 4 Ohms are more unusual but if your head delivers maximum output at 2 ohms then that's the way to go. I would choose a head 1st and then buy cabs to suit. Unless of course a pair of great cabs comes your way and limits your head options. Peter - Who actually has a Yamaha BBT500 head and one BBT210 4ohm 2x10 not getting used, must put em up for sale.
13. I hope you 3 fans don't mind me saying that Rippers do absolutely nowt for me. Gibson have always been a huge disappointment for me considering their guitar pedigree.
14. Our drummer Dave is an ace guy. Sadly he often takes his cue from me. I'd die for a crisp clean drummer who had metronomic time. A band is only as good as it's drummer, that's why the Beatles sacked theirs.
15. Dave, our drummer (as opposed to Dave our lead guitard) asked me to record a set of basslines so he could practice along to them Duly done: Black Magic Woman Riders On The Storm Smoke On The Water Make Me Smile Save Tonight Old Habits Die Hard Ruby Tuesday Behind Blue Eyes Apache Moving On Someday Baby Sunshine Of Your Love We’ve gotta get out of this place House of the Rising Sun Johnny B Goode Mustang Sally I used my Warwick Blue 60 direct into my Edirol R-09HR and burnt the CD using Audacity and CD Burner XP
16. That Vanden is a thing of great beauty. As its quite unique I'd pitch it at a high price, possibly on US eBay with its provenance. The Yamaha is a good example of a EUB and someone here may be interested. I feel that it would be worth getting the best possible price for this guys beneficiaries.
17. You can always stop over in Kendal Jon, you're welcome.
18. Having seen your own builds Jon and the obvious immense pride you quite rightly have in them I'd encourage you do build another.
19. Something in my gut tells me its probably genuine. Maybe because it looks sufficiently aged and why go to the trouble especially with a neck through bass like this. Tis a lot of money. You seriously interested Jon?
20. Arghh, musicians using screwdrivers in allen sockets. The engineer in me is coming out in hives!!
21. I got it from a guy in Wiltshire. I don't think its the same one Wayne.
22. Thanks for that Dave. I bought it off a great guy who assured me it was okay so presumably the hum comes as standard and the buyer will get a bargain. I've had a lot of enquiries and the amp is currently on hold pending sale tomorrow. Peter The power side valves are 6CA7's if that makes any sense.
