1. Sounds good, I'll pop in
2. That makes interesting reading. It'll be good to see what you think. Peter
3. A good question. On the Sterling it gave the bass more balls. It was a while back but it transformed a nice bass into a great one. I would say that the East pre, allowing a 3 EQ Stingray to take on the characteristics of the 2EQ, would be worth investigating as it would save you having to find another one. It sounds like a very good solution. Now a Nordstarand and a 2EQ replicating pre might work wonders.
4. I did find that a Nordstrand pickup improved my orange Sterling no end. Is it still out there somewhere?
5. Both Alan and myself have gone for the ACG02 pre amp and it definately makes the Spector more versatile imo while keeping the Spector balls. Mine has the passive tone control as well which is useful for an overall quick adjustment.
6. If you can't get a box from a music shop try a cycle shop. You may need to cut it down a little.
I can't really blame Fender
I'm not sure who else is to blame
7. There was I yesterday wishing that the 4EQ could be aquired in a non Bongo MM. That neck pup might give a good 'blues' tone Al On/off button for each pickup, passive/active button, master volume and eq knobs.
8. How do you make a beautiful bass look even better? Put a couple of ugly blokes behind it! Only joking guys, you are both a picture of sartorial elegance.
9. Here's my wee beauty:
10. I'm really looking forward to this and will bring along my Harlot, Warmoth/ACG and if I still have it my Spector/ACG. Still going up on the Saturday from Cumbria and still at the moment have space for gear and bodies. Peter

15. Just to add that I love my GS112's and Mark is a gent. Peter
16. Hiya Mikey how's life with you? Peter

18.
two small manufacturers is hardly conclusive proof that a filter/sweep preamp works on bass though is it?
You can take my word for it (not just me as a whole host of people on Talkbass will attest) the ACG pre amp 'works' on a bass. Peter
19. I've moved the remaining basses out into separate threads as I don't think this is the best way to market them. Peter
20. If there's one bass that I'm far from sure about selling its this one. My Spector Euro LX 4. It's fitted with an ACG02 with a passive tone control. It's also the latest version with the enhanced low/high pass frequency overlap. There's threads around that detail the benefit of the ACG02. I've fitted 5 of these too so it's installed with care. I still have the Tone Pump that would go with the bass unless its not wanted. I won't give this one away and the price reflects the ACG02 plus the superb condition. I got this bass for a good price but not the rock bottom price that some benefitted from. £760 Peter
21. Next is my fully functioning 1979 Peavey T-40. I've fitted a new scratchplate to this bass and it's generally used in line with its age but it's in good condition. I'm looking for £220. Peter
22. This is unusual and totally mint as well. It's a US made RKS 5 string with a 3 piece maple neck, ebony fingerboard and passive tone controls. It has a huge tone and a great B string (34" scale). All the hardware is top spec US and it has an aluminium tone block on the headstock too. It balances fine. Everyone who has tried it has been very impressed. I'm asking £500 Here it is: Peter
23. Imagine a really classic bass that hasn't been made for a while and then you find one that it pretty much absolutely mint. That's what this Yamaha BB1500A is in effect as you can see from the photos. It is active with a 3 way EQ shape switch plus 2EQ treble and bass, so you can boost the mids and it give a great Jazz honk. I'm looking for £450. I think the pictures will explain how good this bass is better than me rambling on: Peter
