2.
far mores so than I let on to Alan or Peter -Greenking- to be honest
Dave, you didn't hide it very well. When I heard you play the Harlot on Tuesday in Moffat I thought 'f***ing hell!!'. I am soooo chuffed for you mate.
3. Is that a Mandolin i.e. surely it needs more strings and is therefore a Uke? Re-reads your post - Mando bass yes it counts My favourite Mandobass player Hilary James
4. My daughter is a 'scummer' and I've pointed her your way. So if she says hello you know who she is Peter
5. I've made plans for a fretless build Josh - so still for sale
6. I just remembered how stunning this bass is
7. Too late! I actually did a soft reset/full reformat, not the pin in the hole bit. Hopefully this has sorted it. I think the problem was initiated by my download, possibly the wrong bitrate. Fingers crossed and thanks.
8. Its functioning okay at the moment but I will do that thanks. Peter
9. I just wonder if anyone else has had a problem like this: I downloaded some MP3s onto it a couple of days ago and initially the album tracks were displaying wierdly like `¬$^`&+~#' and then the whole unit went 'sqewif'and locked up. I just felt like it needed a re-boot but it wouldn't turn off and none of the controls had any affect. I put it away still on and contacted Fair Deal Music who I bought it from. I got it out of the box today and it had shut itself down on low battery. I connected it to the mains and restarted it. I connected it to the PC and did a disc cleanup and then deleted the dodgy MP3s. It all seems fine now. Anyone else had a similar problem. I'm wondering if it's got a fault now or not. I've lost the receipt and Fair Deal seem to be struggling to find my records anyway (I may of bought it over a year ago) Peter
10. Had to use this one again.
11. Sounds good, I'll pop in
12. That makes interesting reading. It'll be good to see what you think. Peter
13. A good question. On the Sterling it gave the bass more balls. It was a while back but it transformed a nice bass into a great one. I would say that the East pre, allowing a 3 EQ Stingray to take on the characteristics of the 2EQ, would be worth investigating as it would save you having to find another one. It sounds like a very good solution. Now a Nordstarand and a 2EQ replicating pre might work wonders.
14. I did find that a Nordstrand pickup improved my orange Sterling no end. Is it still out there somewhere?
15. Both Alan and myself have gone for the ACG02 pre amp and it definately makes the Spector more versatile imo while keeping the Spector balls. Mine has the passive tone control as well which is useful for an overall quick adjustment.
16. If you can't get a box from a music shop try a cycle shop. You may need to cut it down a little.
I can't really blame Fender
I'm not sure who else is to blame
17. There was I yesterday wishing that the 4EQ could be aquired in a non Bongo MM. That neck pup might give a good 'blues' tone Al On/off button for each pickup, passive/active button, master volume and eq knobs.
18. How do you make a beautiful bass look even better? Put a couple of ugly blokes behind it! Only joking guys, you are both a picture of sartorial elegance.
19. Here's my wee beauty:
