  1. I've done this a few time with Steinberger-type cricket bat basses. Even then, one time it was handed back to me and I discovered that the D-Drop tuning screw was bent up and unusable. Obviously, some privileged silly billy had shoved his executive luggage down the side of it. I can only hope that it scuffed his leather accessories.
  2. I'm happy with mine: "Peterson Strobo Clip HD"
  3. Can you translate that phrase please? I didn't study "jock" in school or elsewhere!! Just a wee sassenach blowing up your doedelzak 😃
  4. I've not had much success steaming dents out unless you have contact with the "bare" wood. If you have some poly in the vicinity, and it is cracked, then steaming will likely be ineffective and could even risk lifting the surrounding cracked poly as the steam gets under it. If drop filling is an option, I use auto clear coat in a small paint stick container. Several thin coats always better than a thick one. From what you say the bass is already dinged up from previous owners. Maybe best to consider your ding as just another "battle scar" and play the heck out of it.
  5. There it is...........well said
  6. Welcome, Kevin. Good to see another Basschatter who is based in Belgium.
  7. I just bought a Sadowsky Metro 4 from @Papimati Great communications, timely dispatch and professionally packaged. Highly recommended. Grazie Giovanni!
  8. Yeah.....they're the ones.
  9. Me too. Six files from 0.032" up to 0.130" Very pleased with their quality
  10. Here's to that comment. I have two Spitfires and a couple of Goodfellow (Player and Classic) basses. I don't have a Rumour yet though...........now, there's a thought!!
  11. Just don't use ArmorAll or other such products anywhere near painted/lacquered surfaces. They are full of silicones. Unfortunately, some baby wipes also contain silicones ....so, beware. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/265402783_Silicones_in_Wet_Wipes_Benefits_and_New_Formulations
  12. Any pics of the actual cab?
  13. Most auto spray shops ban all silicone-containing products for that reason. Paint "fish eyes" ruin any refinishing work, period.
  14. Duh!.......just saw MPV not Buzz. Too early to function correctly.
  15. Better than tram tracks tho.
  16. Yeah......he seemed to be able to get any bass he played to get that "classic" growly klank. Fantastic player........much missed.
  17. Yeah...........I'd say those truss rods were either maxed out, corroded or whatever to snap like that. He was embarrassed enough to ask if I wanted a discount and he'd get it fixed ASAP. I was on the plane out the next day..............and, to be honest, my confidence was shot by then.
  18. I was staying for a business trip one time in the mid-west U.S.A. in a small sleepy town. Main street was dying, but they did have an active music store. I was in there having a noodle on some 2nd hand basses. The staff were very helpful and I finally settled on a nice Ric 4003. While doing the prep work for sale, the knowledgeable and helpful tech looked the bass over, played it and confidently concluded that the truss rod(s) needed a tweek. I hadn't noticed that the neck was off. You guessed it, he went at it like a gorilla and, ping..........the deal was off. I was glad that he did it at his behest rather than me asking for it to be done. i guess that helpful staff can be sometimes just that bit too helpful.
  19. Me too! My brother lives in Billericay and we visit regularly. I had no idea that there was a music shop in the vicinity.
  20. Isn't this the same tech as the old "Letraset" dry transfer? If so, would work a treat as semi-permanent but removable if necessary.
  21. Once you get used to their low tension, TI flats are the business imo.
  22. This ^^^^^ Age, posture, lifting technique etc all play a part.........but, ask any sufferer of chronic back pain and they will give it to you straight as it is........^^^^^
  23. That is some collection @Hellzero! Chapeau!!
