  1. Most auto spray shops ban all silicone-containing products for that reason. Paint "fish eyes" ruin any refinishing work, period.
  2. Duh!.......just saw MPV not Buzz. Too early to function correctly.
  3. Better than tram tracks tho.
  4. Yeah......he seemed to be able to get any bass he played to get that "classic" growly klank. Fantastic player........much missed.
  5. Yeah...........I'd say those truss rods were either maxed out, corroded or whatever to snap like that. He was embarrassed enough to ask if I wanted a discount and he'd get it fixed ASAP. I was on the plane out the next day..............and, to be honest, my confidence was shot by then.
  6. I was staying for a business trip one time in the mid-west U.S.A. in a small sleepy town. Main street was dying, but they did have an active music store. I was in there having a noodle on some 2nd hand basses. The staff were very helpful and I finally settled on a nice Ric 4003. While doing the prep work for sale, the knowledgeable and helpful tech looked the bass over, played it and confidently concluded that the truss rod(s) needed a tweek. I hadn't noticed that the neck was off. You guessed it, he went at it like a gorilla and, ping..........the deal was off. I was glad that he did it at his behest rather than me asking for it to be done. i guess that helpful staff can be sometimes just that bit too helpful.
  7. Me too! My brother lives in Billericay and we visit regularly. I had no idea that there was a music shop in the vicinity.
  8. Isn't this the same tech as the old "Letraset" dry transfer? If so, would work a treat as semi-permanent but removable if necessary.
  9. Once you get used to their low tension, TI flats are the business imo.
  10. This ^^^^^ Age, posture, lifting technique etc all play a part.........but, ask any sufferer of chronic back pain and they will give it to you straight as it is........^^^^^
  11. That is some collection @Hellzero! Chapeau!!
  12. I have both, but use my ears more than the lines/side markers. lined is a Pedula Buzz 4 unlined is a Moon MBC 5 Both have polyester coated fingerboards.........so loads of mwah!
  13. As long as it's not "the finger" that Cuzzie extols as being the only thing that makes gear sound different. 👆
  14. Is it any coincidence that we have three threads running currently on the theme that all gear (jazzes and p basses) sounds the same? Does that mean I can unload most of my gear and finally beat bad GAS attacks? Yeah, yeah.....it's all in the fingers, right!
  15. I remember way back window-shopping in Denmark Street and Shaftsbury Avenue. The place was a mecca for guitar shops. I'm not sure if Wunjo's was a name in those days, but my memory is not what it used to be. Glad to see that a physical store in a high rent district is able to hold its own against online retailers. Great customer service cerainly helps. Brings back fond memories.
  16. Clearly, she's not a member of meow meow Riot.
  17. Oh dear............that's me stuffed then!!
  18. I know that, even if I am relatively gas-free at the moment, the minute I see something I'll be all over it like a rash. I can try the rational, mature approach, but deep down there are just so many beautiful basses out there!!
  19. The EUB or the Fender Jazz?
  20. Yeah, Bas.............my boy is meant to bringing your old HX Stomp with him and I'll need to look surprised when I unwrap it!
  21. I want to like them.......since the guys at Ashdown offer us bass-players great stuff in terms of amps and cabs. I'll reserve judgement until seeing one "up close and personal". Unfortunately, at the moment they're a bit "meh" though.
  22. I'm struggling to see why anybody would.......unless they have multiple-personalities? I am resisting the temptation to suspect something underhand....but maybe somebody can enlighten me with legitimate reasons.
