  1. I remember way back window-shopping in Denmark Street and Shaftsbury Avenue. The place was a mecca for guitar shops. I'm not sure if Wunjo's was a name in those days, but my memory is not what it used to be. Glad to see that a physical store in a high rent district is able to hold its own against online retailers. Great customer service cerainly helps. Brings back fond memories.
  2. Clearly, she's not a member of meow meow Riot.
  3. Oh dear............that's me stuffed then!!
  4. I know that, even if I am relatively gas-free at the moment, the minute I see something I'll be all over it like a rash. I can try the rational, mature approach, but deep down there are just so many beautiful basses out there!!
  5. The EUB or the Fender Jazz?
  6. Yeah, Bas.............my boy is meant to bringing your old HX Stomp with him and I'll need to look surprised when I unwrap it!
  7. I want to like them.......since the guys at Ashdown offer us bass-players great stuff in terms of amps and cabs. I'll reserve judgement until seeing one "up close and personal". Unfortunately, at the moment they're a bit "meh" though.
  8. I'm struggling to see why anybody would.......unless they have multiple-personalities? I am resisting the temptation to suspect something underhand....but maybe somebody can enlighten me with legitimate reasons.
  9. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!!!
  10. Welcome Spaniel. @ambient has nailed it with his response IMO. Best of luck whatever path you choose.
  11. Yep........i started 2019 being really strict with myself and limiting where I looked so that I wouldn't fall victim to GAS. Just like Paul, Stewie and many others.......I failed miserably. Ended up with 8 additional basses, one combo, a HX Stomp and I'm happier than ever. I reasoned that you only live once!!
  12. That is indeed a very nice Warwick. I have a 2003 limited edition FNA Jazzman that I regret to say I don't play that much these days. Enjoy your new bass!!
  13. Yeah.......all the best, Sam. Here's hoping you'll be able to get back to playing again.
  14. A promo shot in a disused warehouse. Go figure!!!
  15. I think this says it all. Well said, Stub.
  16. Were you a Tufty club member as well?
  17. Did they make fretless versions in all of the above models listed? Coated fingerboards?
  18. Another shout for Ben. Nice guy, down to earth and not pretentious. He has a changing stock, some from the estates of late jazz musicians.......eg Trefor Williams.
  19. Kim Wilde - Rockin Around The Christmas Tree. Don't much like it, but the punters' seem go for it
  20. Is this the scouser's pronunciation?
  21. I switch between basses (fretted and fretless) and double bass. I used to worry that because each was different that I had to concentrate on those differences. A revelation for me was to let the muscle memory develop and , if your technique is basically OK, you will not notice and eventually it will appear seamless. Enjoy practicing and changing....it's a whole new world.
  22. I love it that a request of this sort comes on this forum! I watched Ivor the Engine as a kid and loved it, especially the accent of the narrator.
  23. I feel your pain!! It'll just make what you've ordered better when they do finally arrive.
  24. I completely agree.........but then I'm biased.
