yep, great service. But I bet his price is nowhere near the best online price, just sayin, Most people would rather get a good deal than a good chat. I'm lucky in that my fave shop will usually go lower than the best Australian online price. And they give great service, sadly they are slowly dying. I've done my best to help, bought an Epi Les Paul, Fender MIA P, MarkBass amp, Hartke cab, Takamine ABG, about ten pedals, a Tascam multitrack recorder, Yamaha monitors......yeah I've tried my best hehe

If he isn't , no amount of practising at home alone is gonna reveal that until a gig. The rhythm section need to jam together to gel, it's ridiculous to jam seperately and expect to be tight at a gig. I'm dumbfounded by some of the answers. a drummer who can't keep time is useless to you. How does he redeem himself live if he can't keep time? Get him to rehearse with a click, otherwise dump him NOW. You are spending all your time keeping time for him which severely limits your ability to play great basslines. I only realised this when I jammed with a good drummer after years with this bad drummer. PS after 30 years, we have him back and I am not happy, band meeting last week without him decided he can only bring a snare, his kick and the hi hat. Until he learns to keep time, I'm not holding my breath. When the guitard suggested getting him for our new project, my exact words were " no way, I never want to play with him again, ever". In the end they wore me down but now they realise i was right. A drummer who can't keep time is just another idiot wishing he could play drums

roller skating? really? probably the worst thing a musician can do, broken wrists and elbows, shoulders..... but you know this......now . Joking aside, I also have tennis elbow , on my fretting arm, and a small scale bass eases the stretch the elbow makes on a full scale bass, I know yours is the plucking hand, but if you think about how you can lessen the angle it stays at, it might help, a longer strap so it hangs lower so your elbow is closer to straight? sorry,that's all I have to offer.

sometimes the lesser attended gigs are the best, you get more personal with the audience, you can mingle between sets easier etc.

music competitions are irrelevant Music is art, it is not sport. The only scoring is the sheet music

I can see why that is useful for some situations,but for the majority of uses, it is beneficial to be able to rotate the boom so the mic is at the right angle. That's why all but one stand use round tubing. Post a pic if you manage to find what you're looking for

I tried a lot of pre amps, BDDI, MXR M80, VT Bass, couldn't find the one. the VT Bass came very close. Then I got the B7K and BAM my Markbass LM250 suddenly came alive and I could even hear myself at practice!

That's too hard a decision to make, call the wedding off !

this may sound silly, but PLAY FIFA17 a lot. I quit playing 25 years ago due to arthritic hands and fingers. I got back into playing in 2009. Still had the cramps. Then I got a playstation and played FIFA online. My hand would cramp after half a game and I'd really struggle to finish. But I kept at it, playing FIFA and playing bass. My hand strength improved gradually. Now I can play YYZ over and over without cramping and can play game after game of FIFA> You just have to remember to stop when the pain sets in.

I have an MIA P and a MIM P made in the same year, 2014. They are both great players, the MIA is better, but $1100 AU better ? probably not, aww maybe it is that much better hehe

Fender MIA P 2014- my recording bass, never to gig with Fender MIM P 2014 for gigging with and rehearsals Fender MIM Jazz 2006 for gigging and rehearsals and some recordings SX shorty P bass as a backup at gigs, in case a string breaks or my back gives out. Takamine ABG - stays in gig bag, never to be played. Useless POS dunno why I thought it'd work with two acoustic guitars lol

it's not a rehearsal if the result is going online for all to hear. It is the most important "gig" you may play for a while. Kill it ! best of luck

don't feel bad, music is a tough business. If he can't play simple stuff, and can't write his own basslines then he is useless to them. Doing it the way you suggested makes the most sense to me. I replaced my best friend in a band in 1982. he is still my best friend, he was a talented guitarist, but not so good on bass and he didn't have the drive to succeed at it. He still came to all our gigs, and, more importantly, drank a LOT to help boost our pay hehe.

don't put more than 50 quid upgrading it, it ain't worth it, it will still be a cheap bass. You won't get your money back if when you sell it. Save up and buy a second hand Squier VM or CV
