1. TC Polytune 2 pedal and Polytune Clipon fast , accurate , easy to read big display.
2.
I imagine they'll be a few Dads getting it Blues and Lonesome on Christmas morning,
I had a brief listen, omg it is woeful. The Stones sound tired and bored, and Jagger sounds more like a whitey trying hard to sound black than ever before. crud they are a covers band now lol Vinyl at $35 AU are they serious?
3. what a joke, you mean some committee thinks he is the third most iconic british performer? are they for real? that's why all awards are pointless excercises in self-promotion
4. It's obvious to me turn your drummer into a percussionist for this venue. Manager doesn't want all that noise. That's what they mean when they say they want something more 'acousticy"
5.
Could it be the old send-return loop disconnect problem. If the loop is never used, sockets can get a bit oxidised and disconnect the return signal from the preamp, so the quiet hiss you hear from the tweeter is just the quiescent noise from the power stage with no input attached.
would it do any harm to always have a patch lead connecting the send and return jacks?
6. I bet intonation on the A string is off
7. +1 on holding the correct neck relief and adjusting the truss rod to it without being under pressure
8. you know how hard it is to find a 3 tier sunburst coffee table with tort ?
9. I try to say something complimentary even if they stunk " nice strap you have" hehe I try not to take up their time, I know how annoying that can be, if they're with others I'll just say well played, nice tone you have and let him socialise. If they're alone I'll talk gear maybe. If they were really good I might buy em a beer
10. Welcome back Kotter ! Lot's of us here took time out for a decade or two and came back Good news, the amps and cabs are louder and lighter
11. yep, look at ME look at ME this would never happen in my era, but these days it's all look at ME and Look I'm a STAR coz I've been on youtube lol cool, I'll smack you in your face with my P bass (it rhymes), that should generate lot's of hits
12.
I heard about these but not much I can find on them.
http://www.bassstrin...0cm_p_3030.html
13. if the amp has a headphone out, why not? you can't blow the speakers can you? whether it sounds any good is unknown, you haven't said what amp you have. That would help, ie is it a 100w all tube head or a lil 10watt practice amp like mine?
14.
I am not entirely sure about this lol.
yeah I should have said MY MIM Jazz's bridge pup is anaemic. that's why I just bought a set of SD 1/4 pounders to try out to the OP, the better jazz pup is the neck, so a better combination would be the J neck and a P pup, not P and J bridge imho ymmv
15. get them a gig for better money, then tell them that they ARE worth more than they thought they were.
16.
This one raised a chuckle too: http://www.joinmyban...ng-t918179.html
that's a half-assed ad
17. welcome from Australia too ! Your avatar looks very delicious
18. I bought Hartke Nickel Rounds for $10 a pack (in Oz bass strings are around $35-80) waste of ten bucks , well not totally, they will do as nut files hehe
19. ooh some serious knob polishing going on at MXR hehe I have V1, and if they improved anything on V2 they would certainly say so. I reckon it's exactly the same. If you get it, and want to defeat the 'contour automatically on in distortion mode' problem, just push the contour button in without distortion on, and adjust the mids to compensate. Now if you hit distortion you'll get your mids back !
20. The MarkBass LM 250 Blackline is great value and a great lil amp, just my personal experience. great tone capabilities, works great with the Tech21 pedals too
21.
I passed up the opportunity to see them on the Monster tour (in Cardiff I think it was). I've not made many bad decisions in my life, but that's definitely one of them.
ditto here, lotsa GOOD decisions, Wings in 75, Pink Floyd in 82, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Eric Burden and the Animals, Canned Heat, Carlos Santana One of my BAD ones was missing the Green tour And choosing the Beach Boys over Dylan in 1978......... oh they were WOEFULL
22. most interesting, moreso for noodling while travelling. I can't imagine intonation would be very stable, but that's not why you bought it I bet
23.
Looking for following advice Is the guitar well made or is it likely to have problems? Does it stay in tune? How good is the precision split coil pickup How good is the Jazz bridge pickup? How good do the pickups sound when you blend them? Thanks Mike
welcome Mike first, it's a bass not a guitar anymore hehe Don't automatically think a PJ is better than a P or a J coz often it isn't. The bridge Jazz pickup is really anaemic,it just adds some treble to the combined sound, on it's own it's crud. On a jazz bass the bridge pickup does very little imho. So it won't add much to the P pups if anything at all. What sort of music will you be playing? this is more relevant. Then choose a Squier VM P or J, not PJ
24. pfffft easy for her, she has nails !
