1. I bet no frets on the G and D strings are worn, or any above the 5th fret ROTFL PMSL LOL
2. I think all the members are ex guitards lol
3. N = B + 1 N is the optimal number of basses to own B is the actual number of basses you currently own
4. SUBS there's ya answer, totally unnecessary at 90% of venues yet every sound person insists on putting all the bass through them. I actually get earaches from subs. Normal PA speakers can handle bass just fine, there is no need to use subs for bass.
5. I think it is all in your mind, 1/64th of an inch is not noticible as far as playing technique is concerned. It's your attitude and technique tweek that really made the change. So it's YOU that did the good work
6. seems like the usual band dynamic at work here. The singer is always the weakest link, if they were really good, they'd already be in a high paying gig. Crap singers is all that is left for us bands. I've never been in a band with a great singer, always 'good enough' is the best I had. Ever thought of starting an instrumentals band ?
7. MXR M87 Compressor Polytune 2 tuner pedal Tech 21 VT Bass Tech 21 Bass Boost Chorus Darkglass B7K or, replace these with the Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig. does it all in one teensy weensy footprint.
8. the evening was a hole? sorry, couldn't resist. The main question is, are you happy with both amps?
9.
I had my sound nailed and now it's gone
If you had "your sound nailed", why the heck did you change strings? Just go back to what you had, hardly a big deal.
10. don't waste your money, all acoustic bass guitars are rubbish. Awkward to play, no volume unless you amp it which defeats the whole point. Just play a P thru a small rig.
11. well, you could recruit a new guitarist that likes to play some bass, and you could swap instruments during the show, it always looks impressive
12. I've solved your dilemma. Always have a P and a Jazz in your collection, covers all bases (basses). you're welcome
13. D'Addario Copper coated bass strings. they kept breaking, and my sweat turned my fingers green ! I love all the other strings D'Addario sell, but these were rubbish
14. Goodnight , I wrote a nice walking bassline for it All original band, covers hold my interest until I figure them out, then they are dead boring to play over and over.
15. DON'T GO TO THE MEETING !!!! you've decided to leave, and have told them. what's to discuss in two weeks time? I'll tell you what will happen, the four of them will gang up on you and convince you to stay. RUN Forrest, RUN
16. but it has no handle, how are you gonna push it? Should've spent ten quid more and got the one with a push bar. Or a folding hand truck.
17. get the Scarlett, but forget about the Pro Tools lite software, utter crap. get Reaper, free to try and only $60 for a 2-3 year licence.
18. build one yourself, from an IKEA shelf ! http://samnewtonmusic.com/my-diy-ikea-gorm-pedalboard/
19. maybe you can't fix broken doors in the room, but EQ is EXACTLY how you fix poor sound dynamics in a room
20. Managed to snag one used, $400 instead of $700. Took it to rehearsal. No amp, just the fly rig into the PA. wowee, firstly, it fits in my gig bag's top pocket. One thing to carry ! The comp is very useable, the tuner is a bit slow, not that great, but otherwise it's a handy mute switch hehe The boost is very handy, with it's pre/post Sansamp switch, very well thought out. The Sansamp section is great, like a VT or a BD with mids and a character knob. the chorus is nice, easy to use. The filter/octaver/fuzz section is a bit hard to dial in a sound at first, it has so many variables but I got some funky tones from it. Really well built, the DI out is quiet. The headphone out is a bonus. all in all a great unit that has replaced my board, for size, portability and useability. just get yourself one
21. I finally grabbed a B7K to see what all the fuss is about. wow ! There's the tone I was searching for all these years. Just dial my amp flat and let the B7K provide all the goodness
22. If you only use one output from the amp, and your speaker cable goes bung, you will lose output to both cabs, whereas if you use both amp outputs you will still have one working cab.
23. DJs are the real talent. the way they press "Play" on their laptop is amazing, what talent !
24. I hope you are learning the notes on the fretboard whilst playing Rocksmith If I hear you saying "3rd fret red string" there will be some splainin to do hehe don't knock the Squier VM and CV range, probably the best value for money new. used MIM Jazz and P basses from 2010 onwards would be a good buy too
