1. My GF would only go to our gigs when it was in a great venue full of beautiful people in nice surroundings so, nup, she never saw one of our gigs, I played originals exclusively hehe
2. I auditioned for a punk band to play at a party. They wrote a song called Burn Bragford Burn, it was soon after the tragedy, very poor taste, but hey they were 'punk'. So I went to the first jam, they showed me their ten originals. Next jam, I was the ONLY one who knew their songs lol "I'll give you a clue, YOU WROTE IT!" I refused to play the party, they begged me, "nup I have too much pride in my performance to play with you." "wear a bag on yer head so no one will know it's you........" so it was the first time the BAND failed the audition haha
3. 'luckily' I suffer from extreme anxiety so I usually wouldn't eat a thing before the gig I had to be careful not to drink too much alcohol on an empty stomach, which isn't easy as 'all you can drink" is built into the pay structure at some of the dives we played at hehe now that I'm older and wiser (lol) I'll grab a sandwich or pasty beforehand. Afterwards? a pizza with chilli and anchovies (Bon Jovi's sister, Anne Jovi)
4. personally, I don't know anyone over 16 that can't drive. Why do you think you won't have to learn? you will be a pain in the arse in any band you join. Can I get a lift to the rehearsal? I can't get to that gig by bus, can I grab a lift? My fridge won't fit on my bicycle, can I grab a lift? Seriously dude, learn to friggin drive like every adult does. Or forget about gigging. I would never even audition a musician without their own transport. Time to grow up and learn to drive.
5. nice job personally I like to be able to hide the cables underneath ala Pedaltrain etc but I know lots that like boards like yours. Go for it. Don't underprice it though, go for the boutique buyers.
6. Awesome finish on that bass, HNBD why is the truss wheel not standard on every single bass made in this day and age? To spend $2k on an Am Stnd and have to remove the neck to adjust the truss rod? in 2017? what the #$%& Fender !
7. you SAY it arrived but I see no proof at all. Please remedy this deplorable situation
8. wow I thought it laughable when Adam Clayton got a sig bass, but now the truth is obvious. You can pay Fender to make a sig bass for you, if the price....is right. A fugly bass for an unknown bassist, should sell millions of these lol
9. I booed them in 2006 for being boring irrelevant w***ers....what's changed?
10.
In a band everyone should be playing in time. There should be no timekeeper. As has been said, embrace the spaces. Enjoy the clean uncluttered and fluid sound.
yeah, SHOULD being the key word. I find guitarists are the worst at keeping time. Always trying to cram too many notes into too short a measure hehe
11. My momma sock it to me try to tell me how to live but I don't hear a word she says my head is like a sieve... ahhh I'm so bloody rich hahahaha and I only know three chords Earache My Eye- Cheech and Chong Spinal Tap- ALL of it
12. I can play JJ's bassline but it never has that feel, just a bit back from the beat, then rushes a bit etc. Still can't understand how he does it with one finger.
13. I have the Mooer Pure Boost, lots of clean boost, for around a hundred bucks. Has a boost knob and bass treble and volume knobs as well IF you want to change the tone. I also have a Wounded Paw Boost, also great.
14. Space Oddity, tho it's really Herbie Flowers' bassline that kills it, one of the most complex basslines to learn note for note as it travels over every inch of the fretboard. That Eno rubbish
15. buy a lottery ticket, both have the same chance of success If you're gonna try originals, give yourself two years before your first gig, I KNOW
16. actually you may find that acoustic bass guitars DO sound better DId straight to the PA.
17. whoever thought bass cabs could look sexy ? (apart from my Hartke XL 210s of course)

19. for my pedals I use this Joyo rechargeable battery, 2000mA, lasts for hours https://www.cheaperpedals.com/products/joyo-jmp-02-portable-power-supply
20. you ARE the timekeeper! you always were but didn't realise it It is hard to come up with original basslines when there isn't a drummer to bounce off, but you already know your basslines so u just need a little help. Give the horn players one of those tambourines that strap to their ankle so they can tap a beat
21. what a full day you had:) but....isn't St Pat's day this Friday?
22. I'd bail, how can you be expected to play along to songs you've never heard before (assuming they're originals)? You will only get in the way imho ymmv If the 'artist' hasn't put in the effort to find a bassist, why should they have one on stage?
23. sounds like you made the error. You could've received a full refund but you passed on it. I don't understand how you expect them to pay some the repairs that you organised in lieu of a full refund.
24. disgusted that the RRHoF waited til Chris died before inducting this legendary band who affected the sound of music since the late 60s ! tossers what the f do they know? Hip Hoppers got in before Yes.......... I'm guessing the bass community will implode at the magnificence of Geddy playing Roundabout.....
