  1. It might help if you let us know where you are. Given that collection and meeting half way are mentioned.
  2. What's the condition like, John, and are you likely to be over Harrogate way in the near future?
  3. Would love to see Gang of Four. I work in Leeds, where they're from, but have never seen them.
  4. Toyah on Friday. Well, really going to see my friend supporting. And the the mighty Bilge Pump, Cowtown, Rattle and Guttersnipe in a couple of weeks.
  5. Northern Guitars is on Call Lane. Downstairs is now a cafe/bar. Guitars etc upstairs.
  6. Icehouse/Flower (or Flowers/Icehouse)
  7. Anyone else having trouble viewing the video on this thread?
  8. Very nice, my YOB too.
  9. Last Saturday, Warmduscher at Wharf Chamber in Leeds. Breathtaking!
  10. I bought Joris's Pedaltrain Mini. Comms have been excellent, it was very well packaged and delivered promptly. You can have total confidence dealing with Joris. Martin
  11. I'll take this please. Will pm you later.
  12. I was there I think. 10000 Maniacs supporting?
  13. Good news. Mad wait but hopefully all good now.
  14. The Gallien Kruger Fusion 550 is a single input but dual channel amp - the switch automatically adjusts gain and eq settings. Just mute the amp (it has a mute switch of just use your tuner if you use a pedal one) to avoid noice when unplugging. I think the class d models also have this feature. They can all be had for £500 or less second hand.
  15. Where are you based.
  16. What is the advantage of the Wl-50 over the WL-20?
  17. IME the GK stuff isn't unreliable at all. I've owned 4 and never had a real problem. Its just their suppliers here in the UK are a bit, um, sub-optimal.
  18. Ridiculous.
  19. I live in Harrogate and gig all over Yorkshire, including York and Leeds, in 2 covers bands. As a punter its Leeds every time - loads of great venues, music of all sorts being performed, a really lively scene and well served by public transport.
  20. Do you have a link?
  21. I was lucky enough to be (low down) on the bill for their penultimate gig, which was essentially the Stop Making Sense set. Amazing show, one of the most memorable gigs I ever saw. I'm seeing Byrne in Leeds in a few weeks - his recent album with St Vincent was very good
  22. I don't mean there isn't good musicianship. Its just the boring old look-at-me widdely widdely macho stuff is not there.
