  1. Last Saturday, Warmduscher at Wharf Chamber in Leeds. Breathtaking!
  2. I bought Joris's Pedaltrain Mini. Comms have been excellent, it was very well packaged and delivered promptly. You can have total confidence dealing with Joris. Martin
  3. I'll take this please. Will pm you later.
  4. I was there I think. 10000 Maniacs supporting?
  5. Good news. Mad wait but hopefully all good now.
  6. The Gallien Kruger Fusion 550 is a single input but dual channel amp - the switch automatically adjusts gain and eq settings. Just mute the amp (it has a mute switch of just use your tuner if you use a pedal one) to avoid noice when unplugging. I think the class d models also have this feature. They can all be had for £500 or less second hand.
  7. What is the advantage of the Wl-50 over the WL-20?
  8. IME the GK stuff isn't unreliable at all. I've owned 4 and never had a real problem. Its just their suppliers here in the UK are a bit, um, sub-optimal.

  11. I live in Harrogate and gig all over Yorkshire, including York and Leeds, in 2 covers bands. As a punter its Leeds every time - loads of great venues, music of all sorts being performed, a really lively scene and well served by public transport.
  12. I was lucky enough to be (low down) on the bill for their penultimate gig, which was essentially the Stop Making Sense set. Amazing show, one of the most memorable gigs I ever saw. I'm seeing Byrne in Leeds in a few weeks - his recent album with St Vincent was very good

  14. I don't mean there isn't good musicianship. Its just the boring old look-at-me widdely widdely macho stuff is not there.
  15. 55 and I've never been more interested in new music. I go to gigs in Leeds regularly at medium and small venues, pick up hints from my kids, two of whom are very into current music, have made friends with many of the folk in DIY bands in Leeds, many of whom are 25-30 years younger than me and who have endless recommendations of almost always great stuff. They're interested in my recommendations too. Listen to Radio 6 (Mark Riley especially and plenty of others). There is SO MUCH great stuff out there, and a really healthy live scene. One of the best things is the number of women making music now - they bring a real freshness to what had become a dull scene - not so much emphasis on musicianship, more of expression and performance.
  16. Very helpful guy, sad news.
  17. I know...but sorry, I couldn't see the profile on my phone.
  18. Stunning work, and thanks for taking the time to post all the updates, it's been a fascinating thread.
