1. The Fall for me, but plenty of other bands have had a massive impact too.
2. Cash on collection....but where are you based? Sorry if I've missed it.
3.
how do I know if a song is in the key of C Major or A Minor ?
Look for the 'raised 7th'. If there's a lot of G sharps in the music (particularly in the final cadence), then it's likely to be in A minor. However these will usually or often be in the non-bass parts.

5. Youtube surfing is a brilliant way to discover "new" old music (and new new music). Rather like your exploration of the origins of songs from the film, I really liked all the covers that the Detroit Cobras so, and have gradually tracked down originals and discovered so many amazing artists. My favourite amongst them is the Five Royales, and the Olympics too.
6.
I'm going to charge up my pack and run a Polytune off it and see how it does, I've never run it til it poops out.
And...?
7. I find it is so strong that when you try to decouple the two items (whatever they are) the velcro remains stuck together and the glue fails.

9.
Must have had a similar group of friends!
Me too.
10. I had 2 Gen 2 Compacts and decided I wanted a single 4 ohm cab. Just fancied a change so I went for the TKS S212 which is very nice. However I am finding it a but heavy (it isn't really, but I'm getting old) so am considering a move back to Barefaced. Quite tempted with the FR800 as my amp is heavy too.
11. Welcome to the very happy club Damonjames. Still loving mine. What cab are you using yours with?
12.
Not sure if it helps but I have a friend who is moving abroad and selling a heap of studio and pa stuff. He's open to offers on any of it and it includes a mackie pa with subs and tops. He's a top musician and a nice chap so I don't doubt the gear will be in good nick. I can easily pm you his list of gear up you want to take a look.
Yes please!
13.
We had Mackies, great but one died and couldn't be fixed. We now use Alto TS112 as tops and 3 Alto TX12's a monitors. Very pleased with them Les
One of our Mackies (SRM 450 v1) has just died. You haven't still got the one that's alive have you, by any chance?
14. Another option is Read Audio. My drummer recommends them.
15. The Behringers are 3 for £29.99 here
16. Tom got in touch after I'd posted a want ad and sold me a very nice Pedaltrain Jr soft case for a bargain price. Thoroughly decent basschatter - recommended.
17. I was never a fan of sax but the guy in Ezra Furman's current band is fantastic. He's the musical arranger as well, and is happy to play a supporting part and do great solos. Well worth checking out to see how a sax can drive a band (but it's not classic rock).
18. The bass player from The Fall was playing one when I saw them last week and it sounded very good indeed.
19. I once had to try and teach a guitar student how to tap his foot. Just a straight 4. He couldn't do it. I suggested he try skateboarding. There are some people with an otherwise decent sense of timing who can't get certain songs where the intro doesn't start on the first beat - The Killers' Human completely throws our otherwise competent singer. I just can't understand it, and certainly can't teach it. In my view if someone can't dance, even a little bit, they're never going to be able to play in instrument successfully.
20. Exactly the same amp/rack/tuner as me. Its definitely a cut above the MB Fusion, good though that is.
