1.
Really sorry to hear the RA has got the better of you Best of luck with the sale but a beauty like that shouldn't hang around for long
Thanks Clarky, it is a pisser but there's worse than me out there.
2. OK, this is hard for me but the TIM has come to move this beauty on. The RA has won and I have to give up playing and this bass needs to make someone happy. It is the Mutts. I had a Fender '75 original back in the day ( one of the good ones) and this is just as good. It was put together by our own CD_David and body was refinish by luthier Dave Wilson, the man's a god. After having asked Dave's permission, here's the link that persuaded me to trade my '83 Fullerton '75 RI P bass for it. http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1213950 I hope that the link works. The first picture on the stand is how it looks now. Dave has told my that the body is from a '90's Japanese Fender Precision and the finish on it is the best I have ever seen, I kid ye not. It is still in the pristine condition that I got it in and I will throw in a Hiscox hardcase and a Zoom 607, that's what I used for home practice when the RA let me play. Pick up preferred from Winsford, Cheshire or will deliver if not too far, NW area. I work for a courier company so UK ONLY delivery can be be got at, I hope, a reasonable rate. I'm looking for £550 firm for this and no trades thanks as you will understand.
3. I'm afraid it's time for me to pack up playing also. The RA means that any time spent on bass brings on the pain too much. If I play for 10 minutes then I suffer for 3 or 4 days after. I've tried to kid myself on that I can still cut the mustard but it's plain now that I can't. Time to sell up I think. I feel sorry for the others on this thread going through bad times but I know how you feel. Playing bass has been part of my life for over 40 years and I know when I stop, I'll still get GAS, dammit.
4. Great stuff Tim and yes, an interesting character.
5. I saw K.C. live for the1st time in 1970, just after Greg Lake left and had been replaced by Boz Burrell. Both these players had a huge influence on me and Robert Fripp is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Why diss someone because you don't get them. It's not big and not clever. BTW, I also like the Quo so I am definitely not a musical sob.
6.
ArGHHH why why why, rending of garments, gnashing of teeth etc ? Damn its not going on BBCi player apparently, Please tell me did anyone get a copy of it that they can convert and bung up somewhere ?
Can I have a copy too. I would love to see this, I used to use Vox gear when I started out.
7. I drive a Ford Fiesta and it does the job I need of it. I wish it was a Ferrari but I doubt I could handle one. I don't think a high end bass is that much different. It wont make me a better player but would satisfy my GAS.
8. I'm glad that you have come to this conclusion. I have used fingers, picks and even a bow on a P bass because I have been asked to. If the song calls for it, use it. It's just another tool in the box. I was better at some styles than others but it all adds to your tonal pallet.
9. For me, this. I once spent £180 on a rack mountable Boss digital delay unit just to play this track at home. How sad is that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTrNQCYh70Y
10. Well done Flanker, that is a milestone in your recovery. May there be many more.
11. I remember seeing Lindisfarne in the early '70's headlining in at the Green's Playhouse in Glasgow. I was so blown away by the sound from the bass live, I saved up and bought a S/H Rick 4001 fretless 12 months later. BTW, the support band was Genesis who were promoting the Foxtrot album. So, at a guess, it must have been around '72 - '73.
12.
Hi basstech Sorry to hear you are having an issue, that doesn't sound at all right to me and from what you write sounds like a faulty amp unfortunately. I would suggest getting in touch with the shop you bought it from to get it sorted under warranty. Which store was it so I can keep an eye on its progress? Before you do that though where abouts do you have the input gain set? Best way to check this part isn't wrong is by plugging your bass directly into the amp, turning the input gain up whilst playing hard until the peak light is flashing, then backing it off a little. It's important to get the gain structure right to achieve the best tone/volume etc. I personally don't think you'd need the SansAmp in the chain due to the APM/TubeTone etc. TBH Apologies if you've already done this and I hope I'm not telling you how to "suck eggs"
Great PR, I am really impressed. This is the way forward in customer service. I wish more companies had this attitude.
13. This is identical to the first cab is ever had in '69, I wish I still had it. Beautiful. Good luck with the sale ( not that you'll need it).
14. Could you post some more pix while I nip out to get some tissues.
15. I hope the gig went well and you're gonna keep this. If it were mine, I'd miss it too much if I sold it.
16. Rick, that looks great, I like the swap shop build method. Might give it a go.
17. Suzie and my old band used to use the same rehearsal studios in Chelmsford. Always supportive and a nice lady. Jammed with her ex Lenny and Bill Legend with her daughter on BV's. Good times.
18.
Been playing it all day & i'm in love with it
This might be the answer for me. My RA is stopping me playing bass but a bass synth would work.

Please make public, I wanna drool.
20. I've had gigs like this. My Marshall head packed up at the sound check at one gig. I had to ID into the desk with nothing but inaudible foldback and no IEM. Kinda focused the concentration and cured the constipation in one go but it was a great gig.
21. Thanks for the fastest deal I've done on BC. Lovely bass and well looked after and Burg is a gent. Good luck with the new baby, I hope it's going to be a bass player too. Sam
22.
I remember the nack radius thing very strongly actually.
Are we still talking bass necks here?
23. I'm glad all the sales are going well but I hope you've got a keeper. If so, what is it, as I'm a nosey git..
