1. I'll have some of what you've been smokin'.
2. PM'd regarding the Godman acoustic.
3.
Unless there's some specific reason why he needs an acoustic I would say that a cheap acoustic bass will probably put him off bass for life.
I know what you mean but the school don't do one to one teaching, imagine 10 practice amps all blasting bum notes for a hour. Hence, the acoustic route.
4. My mate has asked me to look out for a cheap acoustic bass for his lad as he's getting lessons at school but I've no idea what I'm looking for. Any help welcome, BTW under £75 only.
5.
I had this exact problem, i've just downloaded opera mini from the ovi store for free and it let me sign in straight away. Matt
Downloaded Opera, sorted. Thanks.
6. As it says above. I'm using a Nokia X6 and when I try to sign in, nothing happens for a bit then I get jumped down to the bottom of the screen. No option to sign in that I can see. It used to work but I recently cleared the cookies on the phone and I have not been able to log on since. Any clues?
7.
She's home tomorrow, just a short visit to see her Mum on her 80th. So she'll be home before the bass gets here Luckily she's very understanding usually
Bloody hell, your missus is 80? How old's her Mum?
8. Loved Gerry's playing, saw him dozens of times when he played with Rory. He was a big influence in my playing style.
9. Can anyone help? I can't log in on my Nokia X, used to work but I recently cleaned up the phone and deleted all the cookies, now I can't sign in.
10.
Right, thanks for the interest, it was certainly an eventful evening Since it was a charity gig to raise money for kid having an operation there were a couple of other things going on. The original idea was that we would play for an hour about 10 O'Clock but due to speechs and the like we didnt get on until 11. Played 6 songs which we managed to make last a hour and there was one member of the audience who was so drunk he kept coming up and hugging the singer and playing air guitar in front of the guitarist but that in itself was no big problem. We took a break and were then went back to play another set, By the end of the second song there was a scuffle in the crowd which very quicky turned into a full scale pub fight. At this point was stopped playing and the guitarist singer saw one of his friends getting punched so he decided to get involved. leaving the rest of us standing there looking like idiots. After 10 minutes of shouting and shoving the crowd was pushed out of the pub and the shutters pulled down where we could here more fighting and glass being smashed outside. Had a drink in the pub then we loaded the cars out back and drove off. So not entirely sure I can say our first gig was sucessful
Sounds like the kind of gigs I used to do. Happy days.
11. He re-listed it and it sold for £37, the buyer's guide dog went mental.
12.
My nose looks like Townsend's anyway
13.
If you peer at your reflection on the front of this bass, you look like Pete Townsend. This is almost certainly mine very shortly! Bloody fantastic!
Funny Nigel, when I saw this beauty I thought it would suit you.
14. You do find some beauties Dave, very classy.
15.
This is up for £2,200!!! http://www.ebay.co.u...=item43a9d23dc9 I sold one of these on this very forum for £360 delivered back in March and I'd bought it for a similar amount the year before off here. Admittedly it hadn't got the playing pedigree this one has but come on.
Yeah, I nearly bought yours. Bummer, could have really cashed in.
16. Great to see so much love for the Floyd here, I've been a fan since I first heard them in the late '60's. Atom Heart Mother was my intro to them, not the greatest Floyd album but got me hooked. I've got all their albums and been to see them live a few times. Water's solo gigs with Andy Fairweather Low on guitar duties were good but David Gilmour is is my guitar hero. Our own BC member Guy Pratt was outstanding on the post Waters gigs.
17.
BBC4 11:40 onwards ending with the utterly fantastic *Live in Pompeii... my favourite. *some real good live bass from Rog.
Thanks for the head up, Sky+ set. You can't beat a bit of Floyd.
18. How come Happy Jack doesn't dance anymore?
19. I like the new look, well done all.
20. Shuker, now your talking. Dood's single cuts are stunning.
21.
There's currently a Cort headless on the bay. No idea if that fits your bill? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Customised-Cort-...=item3f0dc2c860
Thanks for the heads up but my fretless days are over due to RA. TBH, I wasn't all that before the RA.
