1.
So we auditioned some drummers. One was really quite good and we agreed that we'd give him 'the call' after the weekend. Saturday night I get an email from him, saying how much he enjoyed himself and attaching some 'funny images' of himself in womens' underwear. The last shot had him bent over in crutchless knickers. Perhaps it was his way of saying 'No thank you'.
I didn't know that Pete Burns played drums.
2. Your links to the pix are down mate. where are you based? Interested in this.
3.
I'm still going to buy it . I agee with most on here that the internet has diminished it's appeal , but I like a physical magazine - especially for the bog .
Yeah, you can't wipe yourself with an iPad.
4. I played one at Dawsons last year. Very light, neck like a wafer. Sounded really good with lots of tonal variation. I nearly pulled the trigger on one but the RA beat me. I don't think you will be disappointed.
5. IMHO, this sort of question gets into a flame war. IBTL.
6. WTF? Are they having a laugh? I've binned basses in better condition. Bet it plays nice though.
7. My old band used to play at Robin's 2 in the Midlands regularly and being Essex based and having no van, we would hire a trailer and I would tow the gear to the gig. We would always make for the bar on arrival for a swift one before unloading but this time we unloaded first and I parked up in the car park at the rear of the venue. 10 minutes later I went back to get my ciggies from the car and the trailer was gone. Some twunt had nick it. Thank f@ck we unloaded first. To get back to Essex, a punter drove the gear from Dudley to Chelmsford in his transit and wouldn't take any fuel money. What a star.
8. I tore the skin off of my bottom lip trying to cut a strip of gaffer tape from the roll. Bled like a good 'un for ages and hurt like hell.
9. Martin Turner from Wishbone Ash came backstage for a chat after my old band played at the Shepherds Bush Empire. Lovely guy. Bob Geldolf and Johnny Fingers were in the crowd at the old Greyhound in Fulham Palace Road, in the '70's.
10. I'll give you a bump just for the interesting read.
11. If this had come up for sale in March, I would have had it. My upcoming Thailand trip has claimed all available funds. Good luck with the sale.
12. I say go for it, I reacon you'll have a laugh.
13. The guitarist in a band I played in during the '70's had one of these. Great tone and easy to play and was a bit cheaper than the Les Paul he also had. I think you have a top axe there. Enjoy.
14. I'm pretty shocked by the sellers behavour. 73Jazz, make sure you leave feedback for other peoples referrence.
15. I started out on piano at 8 years old and gave up then I was 14. At this time I started on DB in the school band and guitar. Moved to bass guitar at 15. During the '80's, I played synth for a few years then went back to bass. I still have an electro acoustic guitar that I noodle on now and again, RA allowing.
16. Bob bought my P bass in the easiest deal I've had. Top fella and highly recommended.
17. I sold my P bass on Sunday on this site, the money was in my bank account within 2 hours and I still had the bass. I had never had contact with the chap before but after a couple of PM's, the deal was done. I guess we trusted each other to do the right thing due to this site. And it works, try doing that on Ebay. Edited to say thanks to all the guys on here who PM'd about the reason I sold the bass, you don't know how much I appreciated that. Basschat Rocks.
18. What, no Kent Armstrong hot vintage. Outrageous. They are first class.
19.
Good luck with the sale. Sorry you are having to do it, what a git, thought I recalled that the RA had improved for you in recent times. Best wishes.
Thanks for all the kind words guys. The improvement in the RA didn't last long and I am now having further complications with the meds I was on. Cheers Sam
20. Not completely bass related but he did play bass for Jeff Beck and others, I found Ronnie Wood's bio was a good read.
