1. Sorry but I find single-cuts Fugly, apart from the Les Paul.
2.
With the two active presets and the amazing tone you get from having both pickups going I doubt anyone would use just the neck pickup! That 'huge' sound I'm talking about is just too addictive! I think for my next Kubicki I will look for one of the exotic top customs!
I would love to try one out Chris, I like the look but I had never heard one in action. I'll need to change that.
3. You have one hell of a nice collection there GW. The newbies look great.
4.
There are a couple of Washburn Statii for sale on here around £400. Not played one but I hear very good things. An excellent condition Hohner probably £250ish Spirits go for £150 - £200
I had a Washburn for around 10 years but I always found the pick ups lacked any growl and the active circuit was a bit pants. I'll have to give a Hohner a try and see what it's like.
5.
just wondering with that bass guitar pedigree, whats the attraction for a headless bass? (nosey geyt) W
The headless Washburn was really light, very comfortable to play over long periods and just never went out of tune.
6. I'm thinking of getting another headless bass but I'm not sure what it get. I normal use Fender P's, the 1st bass I ever used was a '62 original and then owned a '75 and '57 Fullerton RI. I am playing a 70'a alike build P bass now. I have also had a Rick 4001 fretless and a Washburn Status 1000 headless in the past. What headless would give me a P bass or old school sound. I don't slap but love the headless vibe. Your thoughts please. Sam
7.
Is Wooten wearing a mini skirt
Well, all the slappers round here do.
8. Are you sure that's not 9 1/2 Lbs, because 9 1/2 kilos is f**kin' heavy. As Arnie would say, Oooh Me Back.
9. Welcome to Denmark Street and it's World renowned customer service.
10. I've just found this via another thread ,Stunning, I love it. Can I hear more and where?
11. Guys, some great choons on there, subscribed. Cheers.
12. I'll give it a go, not been to one since the '80's in London but even that was a slapfest. It will be nice to check out new amps. I hope Barefaced make an appearance as I would love to hear one.
13. Get it refretted and enjoy playing it, no point in having it if you don't.
14. Shame I can't afford to buy her back, looking great and David's a top bloke to deal with.
15. Dave, I can't believe that's the old gal, looks stunning. Dave Wilson is a star.
16. I can ever understand the Guy Pratt bashing, is it jealousy? I wish I had his talent.
17. I bought a Zoom pedal from Ian. Great communication and well packed. Top banana.
18.
If I was buying an acoustic instrument, like a double bass or a quality acoustic guitar, I would expect to hear the difference the wood makes. But electric bass guitars? Do me a favour. Strings and pickups and amplification are much more important, and you will pay a lot less for those.
Nail - Head! My ears couldn't tell the difference between woods on a solid body electric bass but then again, I'm an old fart.
19. I don't know what the bass is but it's great to see Jethro anytime. Ace.
20. BigFish is just thing, cheers, but the other site don't work on my laptop.
21. Hi Guys and Gals, I use a small 50w combo to rehears with and the band are hoping to do a couple of charity gigs later this year or early next year. Where, in the North West, can I hire a decent bass rig and maybe a guitar rig and a PA for vocals and how much would it cost. I can't justify buying at the moment as I am saving of a holiday and any gear would just be gathering dust between gigs. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Sam
22. My mate's bass player has a problem with his 450 and was has been told it's due to dry solder joints and that it's a common problem now that the amps are being built in China. It would seem that the QC is a bit lax and the tech he spoke to in Edinburgh says that he has repaired 4 or 5 in the last 6 weeks.
